This is a couple of lines from a US post; it shows perfectly why you should not breed kittens and sell or give away; People like this should never be back on the streets but he is and probable doing it again. Don't believe those nice people that take / buy kittens and animals, mostly from face book, gumtree, marketplace and the likes. Not all of them are nice. Yes there are some beautiful animal parents out there but they will go to a rescue, be happy to be interviewed as adoptive parents if they really care or take in a street cat or the deceased neighbors needy pet of indiscriminate age and heritage.

Winter is well in but spring is really just around the corner!
Now that is when all animals thoughts (and hormones) turn to S*X.
Your dog if it is around 6 months and older can come on heat< undesexed male dogs become super athletes, dig tunnels and scale walls and trees when they smell a bitch on heat and that scent can travel a long way on the breeze or if you walk your on heat dog. Males have been known to travel many kilometers in just a few hours to join a queue of fighting males.
I once had a customer that locked his dog in the old fashioned garage, the one with the really high window, closed and locked the front gate as well, thought he was smart even thought I told him there was a high chance of a male getting in I got laughed at.
He arrive home to see a mastiff type had destroyed the fence and was standing under the window baying and howling. Before he could get out of the car or unlock the gate a Jack Russel terrier charged down the street, shot through the hole in the fence, bounced off the mastiffs back, got a paw hold on the window sill and disappeared into the garage. By the time the bloke got inside and unlocked everything the deed was done. He was very shamefaced as he asked me to rehome 7 Jack cross Staffy pups.
Then there is pyo (Pyometra is a severe, life-threatening bacterial infection of the uterus that typically affects unspayed female dogs and cats a few weeks after a heat cycle. Key signs include extreme tiredness, high thirst, and a swollen belly or pus discharge. It is a true medical emergency requiring urgent treatment.) It is often mistaken by owners as heat stress, pregnancy, or weight gain, often left far to late to save a dog.
A midnight ( cesarean) trip to the vet with a dying dog who cant have her pups cost thousands and it is always Sunday or night time it seems. Then there is feeding, worming, microchipping and vaccinations and the problem of rehoming, even if a designer dog a lot are 10 a penny now and the rescues have a constant supply of daxies, smoodles, and ever other oodle you can imagine now. Large fines apply for un microchipped dogs and cats and authorities are clamping down on these "free" un vac and un micro pups. Fines can run to several thousand dollars for a litter.
So if you are short of $ and on a pension of any kind contact your local rescue who will probably be able to assist with some desexing funding for you.
DES*X YOUR PETS SOON: be a responsible pet owner and dont add to the mess of unwanted dogs and cats that a getting killed by the thousand every year as there are more of them than homes.
Every pup or kitten you breed means there is another killed as you have taken that precious home from it with one of your pups or kittens.

Now is the time to get that kitten or puppy you got free desexed, 4 months old is the required age to desex cats and 6 months for dogs in NSW. I also means you will get the heavily discoubted registration Lismore council website Dog desexed by the legal age is $66 lifetime reg, Not desexed $224. Pensioner is even cheaper. Cats that are desexed are so cheap but annual fees can apply if not desexed by the correct age. Go to the Lismore Counil website for the full fee structure.
So that is the first benefit; Also by desexing you can save thousands, yes thousands of animal lives by not breeding.
An estimated 50,000 to 70,000 healthy and treatable CATS and KITTENS are euthanised in Australian council pounds and shelters every year. Across the country, approximately 180,000 cats enter council facilities annually, with roughly 1 in 4 (28%) ultimately euthanised.
This does not include stats from a lot of the rescues, and private breeders, the kittens that have to aborted at speying, drowned or disposed of (killed) by irresponsible owners who apply cruel methods of ending their lives.

Estimates show that roughly 30,000 to 44,000 dogs are euthanized in pounds and shelters across Australia each year. Euthanasia rates and policies can vary drastically between regions, and organizations work continuously to reduce these numbers through adoption, foster, and community education.
Again this dose not include data from a lot of rescues and back yard breeders.
Do you love your dog or cat? then dont breed, save lives and dont cause many more deaths.
If you are in financial hardship there is subsisised desexing out there, start putting your loos change in a jar and before you know it you will have funds to balance out the subsidy. Ask you local rescues, vets etc about who has desexing vouchers available.

So Meta when we all report animals for sale, or to give away to face book do they say it does not contravene out rules. So many adds out there for free animals, no microchip, not desexed, ex breeder (puppy farm) dogs, cats, kittens, rabbits. Do you know what happens to a lot of these animals?? Kittens go for snake food, rabbits, guinea pigs, or become a toy for a small child and become the parents of the next generation of unwanted kittens if they dont get run over or killed by the neighbor or their dog. Pups and dogs often are used for dog fighting, or bait dogs for fighting, guard dogs for drug dens, ripped to shreds by pigs (there is always another free large breed dog to replace that one) allowed to roam as undesexed dogs, females r***d and males in dog fights, also the next generation of unwanted pups. Yes some land on their feet but most don't, the lucky ones end up in rescue when the new owner realises it was not the right move to take the dog free when it often is given away because it has problems. The people giving away free animals are irresponsible, do not have the skills of rescue to assess potential owners and rarely tell you all the issues with the dog. How may people getting rid of a dog tell you things like; it bit my kid, you need a solid 2 mtr fence that is 30 cm into the ground to keep it in, it killed my neighbors cat, it pees all over the house. Report every add you see, meta has to follow their own rules eventually, recommend the disposer goes through rescue, encourage people to adopt not shop.

Maybe it’s flaky.
Maybe it’s crusty.
Maybe it’s spreading.

You might be dealing with ringworm 🪱.
And despite the name… it’s not a worm at all.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that’s extremely common in kittens, especially kittens born outside, living in colonies, or coming from overcrowded environments.

Signs can include:
⚠️Circular patches of hair loss
⚠️ Flaky or crusty skin
⚠️ Broken hairs
⚠️ Itching
⚠️ Bald spots on the face, ears, paws, or tail
⚠️ Often glows under a black light (but not always)

The good news?
✅ It’s treatable.

The less good news?
😬 It’s contagious to other pets AND people.

And while shelters and rescues aren’t perfect, animals coming through those programs are often examined, monitored, and treated before going home. Someone is looking for these issues before they become your issue.
