🚆🐕 Why can I take my dog to a café, park, market, or ferry in some circumstances, but not on a train?
A growing petition is calling for a dedicated pet-friendly carriage trial on NSW trains and metro services. Thousands of people have already signed, but more support is needed for the proposal to be considered in Parliament.
Not everyone has access to a car. Many responsible pet owners rely on public transport to attend training, veterinary appointments, social events, and community activities.
The proposal isn't asking for dogs throughout the entire train. It is asking for one designated carriage with clear rules and safeguards.
If Victoria can successfully allow pets on various public transport services, perhaps it's time for NSW to explore whether a carefully managed trial could work here too.
If you agree, please sign and share the petition.
Together, we can help create a more inclusive transport system for people and their pets.
More than 6,500 people have signed a petition in support of the two-year trial, which would require pet owners to keep their dogs on a lead or in an approved carrier if riding in designated animal-friendly carriages.
