🏅 This little superstar - Amora - spent three weeks being assessed with her litter mates and has now been selected to commence training to become a guide Dog.
The training will take about five months and there is various checkpoints and testing along the way to ensure she is keeping on track.
If she’s graduated as a guide Dog, she will do further training with her client as needed.

Congratulations Amora, We are so proud of you. 🤩

🐝 It’s World Bee Day 💛
The 20th of May is designated to highlight the critical importance of bees and other pollinators in sustaining global biodiversity, food security, and ecosystems.
This date coincides with the birthday of Anton Janša, hailed as one of the greatest beekeepers of his time, his observations laid the foundation for modern apiculture.
Given their role in pollinating a third of our food and 75% of the world’s key crops, bees’ support needs are pressing.
Issues such as habitat loss, pesticide exposure, and climate change highlight the need for our action. You can make a difference by planting bee-friendly gardens🪻featuring a variety of pollen and nectar-rich plants native to your region, creating bee hotels 🎍 that offer safe nesting sites for solitary bees, or directly supporting the local beekeeping industry through the purchase of pure, locally produced Australian honey. 🍯

The Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby (Petrogale penicillata) is listed as Endangered in New South Wales and Victoria, with the southern population critically low. Once abundant along the Great Dividing Range, their populations have fragmented due to predation by foxes and feral cats, habitat loss, and intense bushfires. Brush tailed Wallabies inhabit rocky escarpments, cliffs, and caves from southeast Queensland to Victoria. Near us they are found in the upper Blue Mountains and specific areas of the national park, including north of Faulconbridge Point Lookout.
At Jenolan Caves population has grown to over 250 individuals thanks to intense management by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

You can help the endangered Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby in NSW by donating to or joining conservation groups like the Friends of the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby, reporting sightings to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, and managing predators (foxes/cats) on private land. Other actions include buying charity gifts to support habitat work and supporting feral goat control to reduce competition for food. Programs like NSW Saving Our Species and Zoos Victoria are actively managing threats and breeding programs to prevent extinction.
