Mud Grids Tasmania are one of my favourite solutions when tasked with the question “what can I do with this mud?!”

Mud grids not only reduce precious topsoil erosion and run off, but with proper use and installation they can also aid in soil stability, reduce slippage and restore structure in areas of high impact or high traffic.

Go chat with Ali and Steve at Agfest - and discuss the many ways mud grids can work for you.

We can't wait to see you at Agfest Field Days, Tasmania. Find us on MAIN STREET site M05B (near the southern entrance).

Apples are my favourite reference to horsemanship, and earlier this week I was reminded of it again. We have four apple trees, heritage species. All maturing at different times, all require one of the other as a cross pollinator. While picking a selection of apples from the trees, I found myself reflecting on the similarity and connection to horsemanship.

There are many, many Apple varieties. Some varieties work best for baking, some are more for eating fresh. Not everyone has the same taste, I myself love the fresh, crisp slightly tart zing from a pink lady, but others prefer the softer, more powdery flesh in a gala. Always somewhere there is someone working hard to develop a new apple variety, something new and exciting, but truly it’s still an apple.

Horsemanship practices are in theory the same. There are so many methodologies, trains of thoughts and programs, not one sole ideology will work without fail for every horse you meet.

Be open, be amenable, and be observant. Sometimes the apple may look good, but on closer inspection, there’s a grub hole on the side hidden from the sun.

Use the apple for the horse you encounter, don’t try and use a granny smith when a golden delicious will do.

With winter coats fast coming in, I find it timely to advise everyone that sadly I wont be available for clipping this year.

This is for no other reason then some current personal health qualms.

For everything else it’s simply business as usual!

Brrrrrr!!! There’s a little snag that soon won’t be feeling quite so cold after whipping up this super cute little woollen rug for her. 💜🩷

Might have to make a couple in Weim size!!

Sometimes I get requests to repair heavier garments of clothes, but they aren’t ever straight forward. A few strategically positioned planned cuts to access areas and really thinking about order of repair makes all the difference.

These jackets will get a few more years use now!

One of my favourite sayings, as a provider of any service, is that “a builders house is never built, a painters house is never painted”

And well, my mountain of “wash and repair” horse rugs was almost at the rafters 🫠

Yes, I have an industrial machine at home but the machines at the My Dog Wash Longford make it quick and easy!

Next stop - drying and repairs
