🐾 Meet Tallulah!

Tallulah is the perfect little dog! 🩷

At around 6 months old and beagle-sized, she’s past her crazy puppy phase but still full of beans and always up for an adventure!

🏠 House-trained and super social, Tallulah loves dogs, kids, and adults alike. She’s the type of pup who just wants to be part of the fun.

She’s a quick learner who’s already walking nicely on lead, and she absolutely loves the water — especially if she can sit in your lap while you both cool off! 🏊‍♀️
When she’s not out exploring, Tallulah’s favourite pastime is sofa cuddles and belly rubs. Despite being affectionate and people-oriented, she has very little separation anxiety and is happy to chill at home during the day (preferably in the air-con, of course 😎).

💛 Tallulah is an all-around amazing little dog who’s ready to make someone very, very happy.

💙 Help Us Help Petey 💙

Poor Petey was collected from the pound just in time — the pound was full, and he had nowhere else to go. Our amazing volunteer Laura quickly rushed down to save him. When she arrived, he was in a heartbreaking state: his fur was severely matted, and he was covered in ticks.

Despite the neglect he’s endured, Petey’s gentle and loving nature has shone through as he’s slowly come out of his shell. Laura took him home, shaved off his tangled coat (what a relief that must’ve been!), treated him for ticks and gave him a good meal.

We believe we know his origins, and if so sadly, he’s the second of his siblings to come into KANE’s care this year 💔. Petey is now being fostered temporarily by the same carer who adopted his sister, meaning the two have been reunited! 🥹

But with more and more dogs and cats coming in — and the numbers only set to rise as we head into the Christmas period — we’re struggling to keep up. Many carers will be away (a well-earned break!), and we simply can’t keep this many dogs here in Kununurra.
Every one of our volunteers works full-time jobs and juggles busy lives, yet they continue to give everything to the animals who need them most.

We need your help to get Petey to Perth, where he’ll receive full vet care, pampering, and the chance to be adopted through the wonderful Oldies but Goodies Rescue. Petey still has a long way to go and is in need of some dedicated training.

It's baby bird season 🐦 🐦‍⬛ 🦜 🦚 🪶 🦢

Baby birds are finding their wings and may be seen on the ground - but how do we know when to intervene?

Leave it if:
- The area is safe and sheltered
- Parent birds are nearby
- It is fully feathered

Rescue it if:
- It is injured
- It is in an unsafe area (ie construction zone, backyard with dogs that can't be contained)
- It is not fully feathered (if possible try to place it back in the nest or make a makeshift nest from a draining basket!)

Remember: parent birds will ALWAYS raise their babies better than we EVER could! Always try to keep them united where possible, and call the vet team for advice on 9169 1229 if you are ever in doubt 🐦

• Seizure of the dog
• Legal action

📢 What you can do:
✅ Keep your dog properly secured at home
✅ Walk your dog on a leash at all times in public
✅ Report wandering or aggressive dogs to Ranger Services
