Horsn Around - Rescheduled to THIS Saturday!

Weโ€™re back this Saturday, 12th April from 9am to 10am at the Kununurra Agricultural Society equestrian grounds!

Please note we have minimal volunteers and cannot guarantee a horse ride if you turn up without a horse. This is a chance for the community to come together, enjoy being around horses, and hopefully connect with more of the amazing horse people in Kununurra.

If youโ€™ve got a horse, bring it along and meet some like-minded equestrians. If you donโ€™t, come down anyway โ€“ we know how nice it is just to be around horses and talk all things horsey, especially when you're living far from home without your own.

Letโ€™s make use of our beautiful facilities and grow our local horse community!

Please park near the Magpie Club rooms (outside of the equestrian grounds) and walk in โ€“ this helps protect our young riders and our grounds.

Spread the word โ€“ weโ€™d love to see you there!

๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒฟAgistment Agreement ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŽ
These two sections of the agreement go hand in hand...

Use of stables:
Manure must be removed from stables to the muck heap daily. The stables must be vacated during the week of the Agricultural Show, held annually in July, to accommodate horses competing at the show (great reason to enter and come along to the show).

Health/Worming: All horses agisted are done so at the ownerโ€™s risk, vaccinations are the ownerโ€™s responsibility. All horses must be kept in good health and wormed regularly. All horses must be wormed two weeks prior to arriving at the Ag grounds. The Kununurra Agricultural Society reserves the right to ask any agistor to remove any horse from the showgrounds if it believes that the horse presents a health risk to other agisted horses or is not being kept to an appropriate standard.

Horses and ponies can have a variety of internal and external parasites throughout their lifetime. While having a low worm burden will have little or no effect on a horse's health, a high parasite burden can cause serious health problems if left untreated.

Keeping up with the removal of manure in the stables and day yards will assist with reducing the chance of horses becoming unwell and is fundamental for the ongoing good health and welfare of horses!

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŽReminder:
Just remember that when you sign the agreement to bring your horses onto the property you are agreeing to tidy up after yourself and your horses. The KAS Equestrian Centre is a shared space please be considerate of others using the space and do your best to tidy up after yourself and your horse!

Thanks ๐Ÿ’š

Please don't drive on the polo cross field it is starting to kill the grass & I imagine with any more rain it will cause all kinds of issues. Keep to the allocated driveway & parking areas!

๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽWe all sign the equestrian centre agreement but do we actually read what we sign? ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ

Day Yards:

โšก Temporary electric tape day yards may be constructed with the permission of the Kununurra Agricultural Society (check with Sarah -EQC).

๐ŸŒฟ Yards must be of a standard acceptable to the committee and all materials must be supplied and maintained by the agistor.

๐ŸŒ™ Horses may only be kept in the day yards during daylight hours ๐ŸŒž and must be kept in the stables during the night-time hours ๐ŸŒ™.

โšก Electric units must be in working order and operating when horses are in the yards - we have seen lots of horses escaping lately does your unit actually work???

๐Ÿ“ขDid you know?๐Ÿ“ข

๐Ÿ’ฉ Manure must be removed from yards to the manure heap on a fortnightly basis. ๐Ÿ’ฉ Make sure you muck out your day yards fortnightly, not just your stables! ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿด Yards must be dismantled and removed by the agistor during show week and when a horse is no longer agisted at the grounds. (This needs to be done before your bond will be returned)

๐Ÿ“ข There is limited space available for these yards on the grounds and the Kununurra Agricultural Society reserves the right to refuse the construction of new yards regardless of how many yards are already in place.

Rotating yards is good for the environment if you want to move your yards please just check in with Sarah EQC (so she doesn't allocate your space to someone new).

๐ŸŒบ Most importantly please don't put your yards where it stops other uses, from accessing facilities๐ŸŒบ
