A trip out to Mount Edward for an early morning hike first and then a hunter clip for aged cushings horse Angus

He’s an Appaloosa x QH so has pink skin and although he was soaking wet because of a downpour just before I arrived he was clean so I was still able to clip him without any issues

First ever clip for 28yr old paint mare Gilly so just went with a hunter clip and she was such a good girl

2nd clip and mane tidy for not quite 2yr old Irish Sport Horse Titan and what a beautiful boy he is and he handled his hunter clip very well for a baby

First of 3 clips today for aged mini pony Trevor

His 6th year being clipped by me, and the first time we’ve ever been able to do him without needing to use a twitch for his hind legs which was great

I feel it’s time to remind some owners on how to bath their horses in preparation for clipping

I am still seeing far too many dirty / greasy horses and it’s not ok, no excuses for a dirty horse.

The reason I got kicked the other weekend was because the horses legs were so greasy that the clippers jagged the coat and its reaction was to kick out and I’m still suffering the consequences of that kick.

Afternoon clips for these two horses at the same agistment

First up was Oden a very large and intimidating Percheron who was an absolute gentleman.

Next up was Comet a very well travelled station bred horse from NZ who went to a riding school in Singapore only to be sent to Australia when the riding school shut down

What a beautiful boy he was such a lovely nature and he only got clipped because the owner of the agistment had started clipping him and her clippers broke so she asked me to finish him off which ended up as a full body clip
