Transfurmations Established in 2011, Trans-Fur-Mations is a solely owned and operated dog grooming service. Prices start from $40 depending on size and coat condition.

Grooming services include:

Bath and dry - warm hydro bath, shampoo, condioner, nail trimming, ear cleaning, full body brush. Prices start from $40 depending on size and coat condition

Tidy groom - all features of the bath and dry plus feet, face and sanitary trim. Full groom - all features of the tidy groom are included plus your choice of style clip (dependent upon coat condition) prices start

at $50

Breed clips - Breed clips are available. All features of the Tidy groom are included in this service with the breed clip being tailored to the breed that you own. Prices start from $60

Puppy Groom - Warm bath using appropriate shampoo/conditioner for your pup, gentle blow dry, comb/brush, tidy of face, feet, tail & sanitary areas and nail clip. (For pups 4 – 6 months - and a free gift!)

These are the gorgeous faces of 2 cavs I see every 2 weeks for nail maintenance.

While the “standard” recommendation is every 4-6 weeks, some dogs need it more often which is perfectly fine by me.

Overgrown nails will result in damaging the overall foot structure over time and can create problems further down the line.

Dewclaws will wrap around and grow into the pads causing pain and infection and an expensive vet trip when it’s easily avoidable (and costs far less)

Lucky for these 2 cherubs, their owner is so dedicated to preserving their feet it’s now an exciting part of their routine to come for a visit and have their toes done because they know their mum is a sucker and buys them a treat for being good 😂😂

Top tips for doing it yourself.

1. Wear your dog out first.
2. Practice a simulation of what you intend to do without actually doing anything at all
3. Either provide a second set of hands to help calm them (and probably you) or give your dog something to “do” like a chew, lick mat, kong, etc
4. Can’t hold your small wiggling dog and don’t have a second set of hands? Use a leash and attach them to table at ground level so there is no chance of them falling off, or if they’re not the type to run, you can use an elevated surface like your top loader and tie them to the tap so they can’t bolt. Always use a towel underneath so they can’t slip.
5. For larger dogs find something that’s sturdy such as the leg of your couch.
6. Don’t go chopping at random. It’s not a hard job to do, but go too far and you’ll have a blood bath on your hands (easily fixable with flour in the event that you do it accidentally o stop the bleeding)
7. Can’t bring yourself to clip? A $2 emery board (nail file) will do the exact same thing. It’ll take more time, but it’ll take those sharp edges off nicely without the risk of you cutting your dog.
8. Walk them on concrete as often as possible which will help keep them worn down naturally
9. Take a trip to Bunnings, make a scratch board and teach them to use it (you can google on how to make these)
10. When in doubt, seek your groomer or professional out.

I don’t normal share client texts, but when you have a massive wolfhound who’s too big for the table so you spend over an hour on the reception floor while she slobbers all over you, it’s worth it!

While late to the game for professional grooming, mum couldn’t manage with her being such a MASSIVE dog (think 60kg plus)

So we wrangle her together while she fidgets, slobbers, wanders, and does what she needs to do to cope.

Wolfhounds aren’t my breed when it comes to showing. But I’m definitely learning as I go with her owners guidance 🥰 so grateful for the opportunity that presented itself to me.

I generally exit the day with a slimey face and can’t wait for a shower to scrub it off 😂😂😂

With the weather being horrendous this weekend, please know that if you’re feeling unsafe to travel today it’s perfectly fine to cancel… or if it gets so bad you feel unsafe, don’t do it! It’s currently bucketing down here and I don’t want anyone coming in if they feel like they can’t handle weather conditions.

Ollie was advertised formally through our friends at SSR (even though he’s clearly not a GSD 😂) He landed on his paws with one of my clients. . So now I’m tasked with the job of teaching him about grooming life. Today was his first session and he did amazingly well. He’s only 4 months old currently and booked in for grooming for the rest of his life 😂

Well done little man, we are all so proud of you. Even if you did cry for your big brother Sailor 😂
