🐾 Your puppy ignores every toy and goes straight for your hands. You think they are aggressive. They are not.

Here is what actually works, and why.
Keep a toy within reach at all times. Not on the other side of the room. Right next to you. The moment teeth hit skin, you do not say a word. No “no.” No “ouch.” You grab the toy and gently put it in their mouth. Your hand comes out. The toy goes in, and it must be a soft stuffy like toy so they can clamp down on it to satisfy their chomping urges.
You are not rewarding the bite. You are escaping it. The difference is in what happens next. If you then engage and play with the toy, you have taught them that biting you starts a game. So do not. After the swap, you stand up and pause for a few seconds. No eye contact. No play.

🐾 The repetition is what teaches them. Every single time they bite your hand, the hand disappears and a toy appears, but the fun stops. Over time, they learn that toys are for biting and hands are not.

It takes consistency. A few days of doing this every time changes everything.
🐾 Save this for when your hands look like you wrestled a cactus.

🐾 If you think socialization means meeting every person you see, I want to tell you it is not!

You are accidentally creating a frustrated greeter. And here is what most people get wrong.

They take their puppy everywhere, let everyone pet them, let every dog say hi.
Then one day, their puppy starts screaming at the end of the leas, lunging, barking and they say my dog is leash reactive.
You created it this isn’t genetic or an issues of breeding this is your training.

Socialization is not greeting. It is learning the world is neutral. Not exciting, not scary, but neutral.

Every time you let your puppy greet a stranger, you teach them, strangers = something happens. Every time you let them meet a dog on leash, you teach them: dogs = party time.

Do that 100 times, and you have a puppy who loses their mind every time they see a person or dog. Not because they are aggressive. Because they are frustrated.
They cannot get to the thing they think is amazing.

🐾The goal is neutrality. Calm observation, just watching the world without pulling, barking, or jumping.

A socialized puppy can sit on a bench and watch a jogger go by without reacting. A child ride past on a bike. Another dog walk across the street.

Do not let every person pet them. Do not let every dog say hi. Watch from a distance. That is the work.

One - two greeting is fine. Ten greetings a day creates a frustration.

🐾 JUMPING PUPPY🐾

Your puppy jumps on everyone. You have tried everything. Nothing works. Here is why.
You have tried pushing them off. Saying “no.” Some say just knee them grab their paws (PLEASE DON’T!!!)

Here is why it got worse, because jumping works.

Every time your puppy jumps, they get a reaction from you. You either make eye contact, you push them away, you say something, all of that is attention and attention to a puppy or dog is reinforcement.

They do not care if it is positive attention or negative attention. Attention is attention and jumping = something happens.

Pushing them off is still a party, because you think you are correcting and they think you are playing. Hands on them is interaction. How would they know the difference of that and you petting them. They don’t and you just gave them what they wanted.

Saying “no” does nothing, last time I looked they don’t understand English. They understand attention and your voice gave it to them, even when you are mad.

🐾Here is what actually works:
Stand still, wait and stay silent. They will drop down quickly and when those paws are on the ground mark and reward and reward at the ground. Remember wherever the reward is given the behavior will be repeated.

Do not turn away. Do not speak. Do not push. Just stand there.

Capture the good behaviors. When your puppy chooses to keep four on the floor, mark it. Reward it.
It takes consistency. Every person in the family follows the rule puppy will learn.
