Meet Bob Stephens – A Farmer Who's Weathered It All

Back in 1991, when Sclerotinia Blight hit hard, Bob turned to NatraMin...and he never looked back.

"Four months after the first application of NatraMin at 300kg/ha, we could see our pasture starting to change. After cutting 36 round bales, our pasture bounced back and was ready to graze 4 weeks after cutting.

We have reduced the use of Urea down from 125kg to 80kg per hectare. Where NatraMin has been applied, the clover is good and there is no longer any urine patches in the pasture."

Prolonged rainfall can significantly affect soil structure, an issue then directly impacts the productivity of your crops.

It’s important to remember that soil fertility relies on three key aspects: nutritional, biological, and structural. These components are interconnected, so when one is out of balance, the overall health and performance of the soil can decline.

Mixed grain and beef producer Michael Gall, Jandowae, is aware of the rewards that can be achieved when you invest in the nutritional health of your livestock.

Michael started using MegaMin Dry Season Breeder Blend as a dry lick to help his cows get through the challenging times. According to Mick, “The cows were doing it a bit tough but we were very pleased when out of a group of 228 cows, 217 of them were pregnancy tested in calf. My name is Julie Williams and I am the CEO of AgSolutions Australia. To us, ‘Helping Australia Grow’ is much more than a tag line. Our team is truly passionate about helping soil, helping plants, helping livestock and helping people. We are dedicated to building partnerships with farmers, gardeners, Rural Stores, suppliers or industry groups, with the aim of solving problems and providing solutions that add value to the agricultural industry.

While we do manufacture both soil and livestock nutrition products, it is probably our services, information, events, networks and continual improvement (Kaizen) for which we are just as well known. Whether it be soil management programs, supplementation plans or feed ration formulations for livestock, we love assisting people to achieve their goals. We have a genuine desire to see others, particularly the rural sector, succeed and prosper.

AgSolutions Australia started because of a combination of this connection with and love of the land, as well as one couple’s search for ways to improve the health of one of their children. So, with a focus on improving soil health and everything that grows in it or grazes from it, coupled with a desire to help not only their own children, but people everywhere, my parents Trevor and Wendy Zerner started the company in 1989.
