To all of my amazing clients,

First of all, I feel like a royal idiot for posting what I did. I was in complete shock, didn’t know what to do, and honestly just panicked.

The support, kindness, and understanding I’ve received since then has been overwhelming, and I appreciate every single one of you more than you know. I felt so isolated here, like I had no support at all, but clearly I do, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Norman has come home and we are working through things together. He’ll be back on board from next week, so we’ll be back to grooming all breeds, big and small 😊 Pick-ups will also be starting again in a fortnight.

I wish I could take back my post, but what’s done is done. Right now, I’m just incredibly happy that he is home and safe where he belongs.

No Show Policy Reminder 💛

We kindly ask that if you miss an appointment, you respond to our message within 24 hours to let us know what’s happened. If we don’t hear back, we will need to offer your spot to the next client on our waiting list.

We’ve unfortunately had a number of no-shows in recent weeks, and this has a significant impact on our small business. With bookings full months in advance and many clients waiting for appointments, each missed visit is time we simply can’t refill.

We always do our best to be flexible and accommodating for you, and we truly appreciate the same courtesy in return.

A little reminder about our 12-week grooming policy 💛

We completely understand that not every dog needs a full haircut every visit, especially during the cooler months. But grooming is about so much more than just haircuts.

Regular appointments (no longer than 12 weeks apart) are essential for:
• Keeping coats healthy, clean, and knot-free
• Preventing painful matting (and avoiding shave-downs)
• Maintaining ear health
• Keeping nails at a safe and comfortable length
• Managing those eye goobers 👀
• Keeping bottoms clean (no one wants p**p stuck to their pants!)
• Supporting a**l gland health
• Helping maintain dental hygiene
• Ensuring your dogs are happy and comfortable year-round

Even when the coat looks “fine,” there is always maintenance that needs to be done to support your dog’s overall wellbeing.

We are now in March and already receiving requests for next appointments in August. Unfortunately, this doesn’t align with how we care for our clients.

We are a regular grooming salon, and to continue providing the level of care we pride ourselves on, we require bookings to be kept within a maximum of 12 weeks.

If you’re unable to commit to regular grooming (at least 4 times per year), we may not be the right fit—and that’s completely okay.

This policy allows us to:
• Keep your dogs comfortable and healthy
• Avoid stressful, long grooming sessions
• Continue running a sustainable salon for all of our wonderful clients

We truly care about every dog that comes through our doors, and this is why we do what we do.

Lately, the messages keep coming.
The ones that start with
“I’m so sorry to tell you…”
and by the time I finish reading
I’m already crying.
Because they were never
just dogs that came for grooming.
They were my little regulars.
My old friends.
My doggy family.
I watched puppies grow grey.
I watched tiny muzzles turn silver
right there on my table
year after year.
I knew their quirks.
Who needed extra cuddles.
Who needed a quiet moment.
Who pretended to be tough
but melted the second
I scratched their chest.
And I knew their people too.
The way they worried about them.
The way they handed over the lead
with complete trust
because they knew
I loved them, too.
So when they leave this world
it doesn’t feel distant.
It lands right here
in the middle of my heart.
Because a piece of my week,
my routine,
my life
has gone with them.
The table feels empty.
The room feels quieter.
And somewhere in my phone
their name is still saved
like they might come back
one more time.
People don’t always understand
why this hurts so much.
But when you care for a dog
for years…
when their owner trusts you
with something they love that deeply…
you don’t just lose a client.
You lose a little soul
who was part of your world.
And the truth is
every single one of them
took a piece of my heart
with them
when they went.

The price of loving other people’s dogs like they’re your own…
is that one day you have to stand there, heartbroken, and say goodbye
like they were...... 💔 💔 💔
