Well heart scans are all done and dusted, Dash, dot and Gigi were all clear for hcm, sadly dot had a very mild leaky valve detected so I’ve opted to have her desexed

This is exactly why it’s imperative for new families to ensure the breeders they are looking at are 100% doing correct testing. Dot’s condition will not at all medically have any implications for her but because we don’t know if this is a genetic issue as dna testing does not exist for this it’s not a risk I am willing to take.

When you are enquiring with breeders ask to see heart scan and hip scan documentation, dna testing is not actually relevant when it comes to these issues.

So many breeders are claiming they “health test” when they infact do not.
