Did you miss out on our last Hendra Heroes campaign? ⁉

Never fear! Rise Vets, generously supported by Zoetis, has brought back the Hendra Heroes campaign and a whole bundle of savings.

Hendra virus is deadly for both humans and horses. Vaccination is the best tool in the kit of a dedicated horse owner to ensure your mate gets the treatment they need without delay.

If you have equine companions who have either lapsed in protection and require a restart of their vaccines or are starting a new vaccination course, they will be eligible to receive their second booster vaccination FREE!*

Offer begins Monday, November 16th and ends Friday, December 11 ⏳

To book your horse in and take advantage of the savings, give our friendly team a call today on (07) 4061 2590! 📲

*For eligible horses only. Travel costs not included in free offer. T's & C's apply*

Has your pet touched or eaten a dead bird?

This does not mean they have bird flu, but close contact with infected wildlife can put pets at risk. Move your pet away from the area and prevent any further contact. 🐾

Monitor them closely and contact us if you are concerned about their health. Please seek our advice if they become unwell. Signs to watch for include unusual behaviour, reduced eating or drinking, or breathing difficulties.

When contacting us, explain when and where the exposure happened and whether your pet touched, carried or ate the bird. 📞

📝 A pet-sitter can only care for your pet as well as the information you leave them.

First, write down your pet’s routine, including feeding amounts, medications and any quirks or escape habits. Second, leave our clinic details and those of your nearest after-hours emergency hospital. Third, let us know in advance who can approve treatment and how it will be paid for if you can’t be reached.

A little preparation means no delays if your pet becomes unwell.

✈️ Going away these holidays? A little homework now saves stress later.

Check that your pet’s vaccinations are current, as boarding facilities usually require proof. Stock up on medications, parasite prevention and their usual food, since sudden diet changes can upset tummies. Update their microchip details with your mobile number. Book boarding or a pet-sitter early, as spots fill fast.

Need a booster or pre-holiday check? Book in with us now.

Leptospirosis (or lepto) is a disease that can infect over 150 different species of mammals, including humans. It is spread by rodents, wildlife, and livestock who carry the bacteria and is spread to other animals through contact with infected urine. This contact occurs most commonly in soil, standing water (such as mud or puddles), or drinking, swimming and wading in infected water – all of which are very common in North Queensland! 🏊

Symptoms of leptospirosis infection can include:
🔴 Fever
🔴 Lethargy
🔴 Loss of appetite
🔴 Vomiting and diarrhoea
🔴 Jaundice (yellowing of eyes, gums and other areas of the body)

Protecting your family from lepto starts with protecting your pet 👩‍⚕️

This November, dogs starting a new leptospirosis vaccination course will receive their booster vaccine FREE!*

To book your pet in for their vaccine, contact our friendly team today or book via our online portal ➡ https://app.cw.vet/hosted/au/tablelandvet
