A month ago I met this beautiful horse after arriving at a new property and settling into a new environment. During the initial assessment, they appeared quite uncomfortable through the neck and hind area.
After an initial acupuncture treatment, we started seeing improvements in comfort and relaxation

Yesterday she had an acupuncture treatment, followed by a light massage

Recently, I was contacted by friends seeking support for their young dog, Harriet, who had been experiencing ongoing hind-limb lameness.

Harriet sustained a hind-leg injury several months ago. While the initial injury healed, she continued to show intermittent non-weight-bearing lameness for months afterward. Her owners noticed persistent muscle tension and hardness around the affected limb, despite good overall muscle preservation. After multiple veterinary assessments and diagnostic tests failed to resolve the issue, they decided to explore acupuncture while visiting from out of town, having heard of its potential benefits.

We commenced with a gentle initial acupuncture session, focusing on key points relevant to Harriet’s presentation, followed by light massage. Harriet responded exceptionally well — remaining calm and relaxed throughout the treatment and settling into a deeply relaxed, almost sleepy state afterward.

The response following the first session was remarkable. Her owners reported that the following day Harriet was completely free of any noticeable lameness on walks and even resumed “zoomies” around the yard after a bath — something she had not done for months.

A follow-up session was performed approximately 10 days later prior to their return home. At this appointment, Harriet showed no evidence of limping or hopping while running pre-treatment, and the previously noted muscle tightness had largely resolved.

This is a very promising step toward a comfortable, active, and limp-free life for Harriet. She was an absolute pleasure to treat and is always welcome back.
