William “Bill” Wilson of Bowman Farm was a true horseman whose name will be forever linked to the Australian Stock Horse breed. A Gold Member of the Australian Stock Horse Society since 1972, Bill bred, trained and exhibited outstanding horses under his well-known prefix Kywong. His horses were known for their temperament, athleticism and versatility, qualities he valued deeply.

Bill also served as an ASH Classifier back in the day and was a Life Member of both the Gloucester Branch of the ASHS and the Gloucester AH&P Association. Bill was an active supporter of the Gloucester Branch of the ASHS, lending his time, knowledge and encouragement to both seasoned competitors and newcomers.

His legacy lives on through the horses he bred, the riders he inspired and the annual presentation of the Bill Wilson Memorial Shield, honouring his lifelong dedication to the breed and the Society.
