"I specialise in Show Jumping but also enjoy Camp Drafting these days as I integrate life on the farm with the horses. I have grown up with horses all my life and have always had a good relationship with OTT horses throughout my riding career.

As a mum of three I know the importance of safety and being on a safe horse. Our OTT horses are put through a rigorous training program to ensure they are safe, well exposed to new environments and are given the ability to excel in a different field other than racing.

I am looking forwards to working along side Tasracing and helping develop OTT horses beyond the barriers."

📍 Meet Anika Piket – Acknowledged Off the Track Re-Trainer | Based in Kingston.

I’m a Pony Club–accredited coach and 1* eventer with over 10 years of experience working with Off the Track Thoroughbreds. I specialise in retraining retired racehorses for new careers in eventing and general pleasure riding.

My approach is patient, consistent, and focused on building a confident and calm foundation in each horse. I love the versatility and try-hard attitude of OTT horses, and believe in giving every horse the time and individual attention they need to make a successful and positive transition into life after racing.

Seeing them grow into confident, capable partners with myself and into their new homes is the most rewarding part of what I do.

What is Fox Hunting?
Modern hunt clubs follow drag hunts (pre-laid scent trails) across varied terrain, with horses jumping logs, ditches, and fences.

It’s fast, social, and requires a horse that’s brave, fit, and sure-footed - traits OTTs often have in spades.
👉 It’s a fantastic outlet for their natural forward-thinking mindset.

💧🥶 Did you know horses can drink less in winter?

Cold water can discourage drinking, which increases the risk of colic. Check troughs for ice and consider warming the water slightly if needed. Hydration matters in every season.
