Do you know how to recognise anaphylaxis in pets?

Like us, animals can suffer episodes of anaphylaxis if they experience an unusually severe allergic reaction to bee stings, ant bites, foods or certain medications. 🐝

Dogs or cats experiencing anaphylaxis may appear suddenly weak or may even faint. They can also show symptoms of pale gums, red skin lumps, facial swelling, breathing difficulties, or vomiting. 😿

If you notice any similar symptoms in your pet, we’d advise seeking urgent veterinary care. Consult our emergency-experienced team for more information.

Mr. Barney may be 15 years young, but he still knows exactly where the treats are when he visits! If no one's at the front desk, he’ll happily track us down to make sure he doesn’t miss out. 🐩🐾

Barney recently came in for his arthritis injection course—a helpful treatment to keep him comfortable and mobile. As the colder months set in, our beloved fur babies often start to feel the chill more than we do. If your dog is having a harder time getting up in the mornings or seems a bit stiff after a run, it could be a sign that the cold weather is affecting their joints.

Give us a call - We’d love to help keep them feeling their best before winter truly sets in! 🐶❄️⛄️

From tiny paws to a big, strong, independent boy (with his very own seat!), watching him grow has been a joy and an honor. It’s a privilege to be part of his journey — from puppy vaccines to happy visits. Thank you for trusting us with his care. We’re so grateful to be part of his life and his beautiful mum’s, too. 🐾🩺🐶

From little things, big things grow.😢

Can dogs experience dental emergencies? Unfortunately, yes. 🐶

One of the most common dental emergencies in dogs is the development of a tooth root abscess. This is when bacteria enter a damaged tooth and set up an infection in the root and surrounding jawbone.

Pets with this issue usually develop facial swelling and pain. The best way to avoid tooth root abscesses in your dog is through regular dental checks and cleans, plus preventing your pet from gnawing on hard items like rocks or deer antler chews. 🦴

For more advice on pet dental health, consult our tooth-ful team!

🐶 Large breed puppies are especially vulnerable to joint injuries during growth. Until they’re fully mature (12-24 months), avoid high-impact activities like jumping, long-distance running, or rough play on slippery floors.

Instead, choose gentle games like food puzzles, short leash walks, and supervised swimming. These activities build muscle without stressing developing joints. Proper nutrition with controlled calcium levels is also vital for healthy joint development. 🦴

Concerned about your puppy’s joints? Book a growth check with our vets!
