Does your pet suffer from Chicken allergies?
We are what we eat, and the same applies to pets.
A healthy pet is a happy pet.

Ensuring your cats or dogs get quality nutrition and flavoursome food can be challenging with many options.

Always check the ingredients because many dry food brands, including top-brand foods, contain chicken meal, and some brands contain ingredients that are not listed.

I have many customers whose pets have allergies to Chicken. They pay top dollar to buy top-brand foods, only to discover their pet still suffers from severe itching and allergies.
Their pet is still suffering after buying the expensive brands because they did not read the ingredients and saw that the food contained chicken meal.

It can be challenging if your pet suffers from chicken allergies, as most pet foods contain chicken meal, even if they are not chicken-flavoured. SO! Always check the ingredients before buying; many brands may contain chicken meal, including top-brand dry and wet foods.

What is chicken meal? I will tell you: Chicken meal in dog food is generally not bad, provided your pet isn't allergic to chicken. It's part of a balanced and high-quality diet. It's a concentrated source of protein, essential for muscle growth and overall health.

However, it's not always the most nutritious option; some dogs may be sensitive to or allergic to it.

Here's a more detailed look: Chicken meal is a dried and ground-up product made from chicken flesh, skin, and bone.

You may ask why it is used.

Meal products are common ingredients used in many pet foods because they are relatively inexpensive and readily available.

Geelong Animal Emergency is now open 24hrs / 7 days for emergency veterinary care at 102 Fyans St, South Geelong. After 15 years of providing after-hours vet emergency service to Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, Surfcoast and the Western Districts, we have expanded our service for the convenience of the community.

Our expanded 24/7 emergency service complements our specialist surgical service operating 3 days each week. We look forward to helping you and your pet should you require us at any time.
