๐Ÿพ Signs of Trouble ๐Ÿพ

Sometimes these signs get overlooked but here's a gentle reminder:

โŒ Fatigue = slowing down on walks, dragging nails, trembling muscles
โŒ Pain = limping, sitting down mid-walk, avoiding activities altogether

Knowing the difference is SO important for your dogโ€™s health. Aging or injured pets often keep pushing past their point of discomfort, which can make things worse.

๐Ÿ’› If you notice any of these signs, stop and check in with your vet. Early intervention means better long-term outcomes for your dog.

If you want to stay ahead of joint issues or support your dog through arthritis, Iโ€™ve designed a digital course just for you.

โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน Limping = Pain โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

๐Ÿšจ If your dog is limping, theyโ€™re in pain โ€” always. ๐Ÿšจ

Itโ€™s a common misconception that if a dog isnโ€™t crying or yelping, theyโ€™re not hurting. But dogs are masters at hiding discomfort.

In this reel, the dog is showing pain through her back right leg which you can see in the excessive hip movement on that side.

๐Ÿ‘€ Be observant and act early if you ever notice your dog moving like this. Early intervention can make all the difference.

Save this post to remember what limping really means & looks like ๐Ÿ’พ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Pro Tip ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Donโ€™t wait until your dog is older or injured to introduce them to a ramp or stairs! And a common question we get is which is better?

Ramps are gentler on joints and perfect for seniors, small breeds or dogs with arthritis.

Stairs take up less space and work well for young, healthy dogs with no mobility issues ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Go with their natural preference and choose what keeps your pup safe and comfortable โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Gym time ๐Ÿ”ฅ

This exercise isn't just about building muscle. It's about maintaining healthy posture, control & protecting your dog from injury ๐Ÿพ โœจ

Why shoulder strength matters:

โœ… Dogs carry 60% of their body weight on the front limbs
โœ…Shoulders absorb impact during running, jumping & sudden stops
โœ… Strong muscles here help prevent:

โ€ข Overuse injuries
โ€ข Painful compensations when rear limbs are weak

Save for use in the future

๐Ÿพ Hind Limb Checks ๐Ÿพ

Flexibility is a key part of healthy movement.

Here I'm giving the hind leg a gentle mobility check to assess range of motion and comfort.

Assessing this helps us spot tightness, weakness or early signs of discomfort that might otherwise go unnoticed.

These small checks make a big difference in keeping dogs active, pain-free, and full of life ๐Ÿ’›

Routine assessments = proactive care ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ‘€ Hip issues ๐Ÿ‘€

Can you see the abnormal curve in the spine here?

Tight and overactive muscles can pull a dog's spine into an unhealthy curve causing pain & poor posture over time.

Check out our previous reels to learn simple hip stretches you can do at home.

Or if you'd like to come see us for bespoke care for your dog, comment or DM the word "PHYSIO" and we'll send you the link!
