Aiko’s seasonal refresh was brief but restorative. Freshly bathed, softly brushed, and carrying the scent of botanicals, she spent her final moments at the spa engaged in a game of hide-and-seek behind the olive tree—reluctant, perhaps, to let the afternoon end.

Freshly groomed and impossibly pleased with herself, she sat tall awaiting her mother’s admiration of her new coiffure.
