The Natural Vets

The Natural Vets The Natural Vets is a full service integrative veterinary clinic, on the Sunshine Coast QLD

We are a unique, dedicated holistic veterinary clinic on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. We integrate traditional western medicine with alternative therapies with a focus on natural nutrition, homeopathy, Chinese and Western herbal medicine, acupuncture and aromatherapy. We treat all small companion pets including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, reptiles and any native wildlife. We al

so offer a range of natural pet foods and eco-friendly pet products, and have selected the most non-toxic options for preventatives such as tick, flea and worming products. We are relentless in seeking to uncover the root causes of disease, and aim to treat these and bring about a cure, rather than use drugs that will only suppress the illness and in time lead to another. We will empower you to set your pet on the Path to Wellness, by educating you about the causes of disease and the tenets of health.

Reading pet food labels can feel overwhelming.
Marketing on the front of the bag doesn't always tell the whole story. Learning what the ingredient list means, can help you make more informed choices for your pet's long-term health.

Luckily for her, it's a very important job that needs to be taken very seriously, so good work Kat. 🤣

POV: you can hear their thoughts. Tell us below What you think they are saying? 😂👇🏽

Slide 1: “Approach me and face consequences beyond your comprehension.”

Slide 2: “I’ve just seen something I was NEVER supposed to see… and I will be taking this memory to the grave.” 😳 (About seeing his sibling get temp checked, if you know what we mean 🤣)

Today, our beloved clinic mascot, Shanti, had her very first bodywork session with Dr Ed at The Natural Vets.

Shanti has been part of the TNV family for more than 10 years and, now aged 11, is beginning to show a few subtle signs of slowing down. She has become a little more hesitant to jump into the car and is occasionally a bit wobbly on her feet.

But this visit wasn't just about her physical health.

Recently, Shanti and her family made a big move from a sprawling acreage property in Ninderry to a quiet suburban home closer to the clinic. While every change has its upsides, it has also been a big adjustment for our adventurous girl.

These days she enjoys plenty of warm sunny spots to nap in, but she has less space to roam, sniff and explore. There is still guinea pig poo on the menu (much to everyone's horror!), but sadly the kangaroo poo has disappeared from her daily delicacies.

Life has changed indoors too. She's still welcome on the outdoor couches, but the beautiful new white linen lounge is officially off-limits, along with a few bedrooms. It's safe to say Shanti has some thoughts about these new house rules!

Dr Ed's session focused on helping support both her body and her emotional wellbeing. Using gentle bodywork, calming touch, adjustment and release techniques, he worked to help her feel more comfortable and settled. He also recommended CBD oil to support her nervous system, along with a Bach Flower Essence to help her through this period of change.

During the session, Shanti gave a few full-body shakes and several long, contented sighs before drifting into what may have been the deepest sleep she's ever had at the clinic. Wrapped snugly in her beloved pink fluffy blanket by her favourite nurse, Zaylee, she looked like the world's cutest little burrito.

If you'd like to book in with Dr Ed, we have some appointments available for in clinic consults Monday and Tuesday this coming week before he returns to Victoria. Please call the clinic on 5476 7674 to book a consult.

We loveeee Dr Nat, so we thought we'd re-introduce her to anyone following us!

Dr Natalie graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland’s vet school in 2011. She was already familiar with alternative modalities such as acupuncture and Chinese herbs for her and her pets’ own health. Her first job in rural NSW allowed her the opportunity to practice some holistic treatments, whilst also gaining excellent surgical experience from the high case load of emergency patients ranging from caesarians to eye ulcers to leg amputations.

Dr Natalie has completed a number of workshops and courses on acupuncture, Western herbal medicine, Chinese herbs, essential oils and animal massage, and was the mastermind behind the development of many of our own products as well as her very own veterinary product line!

If you want to book in with Dr Nat - head to our website and get your pets seen by our amazing Dr Nat! 🐶🐱
