Our precious package arrived safely last night, all the way from Bundaberg.

These staffy mix babies were rejected by mum, and the littlest girl has a bite on her head. She has been left with a traumatic brain injury which is causing neurological changes. We have treated her with some hypertonic fluids in case she has any swelling on the brain. We are really hoping with some time and care, we will see some improvements in her neurological signs.

We have one small and precious girl, and two big chubby boys. ❤️

Bundaberg to North Brisbane ASAP

Is anyone travelling down through Bundaberg to Brisbane and would be able to pick up some precious cargo for us in Bundy? The babies are real babies, so we would need you to be doing the Bundy to Brisbane bit straight away.

Let us know if you have room for some wee ones on your travels through.

Thank you to everyone who has contacted us about our new family in care. We feel we need to clarify a few things, as being a small one person run admin team, we do not have time to go through many of the same messages on repeat.

• Mumma is not available for adoption at this time. As with all new intakes to our rescue, she will be doing her quarantine time, will have her first vet check and vaccination, and will have some downtime over Christmas to let her milk settle, and then she will go in for her desexing. How can we rehome an animal when we have no idea of their needs or personality?

• Mumma needs to be assessed by a surgeon to see if she would benefit from opening her nostrils to allow her to breath easier.

• Mumma and her babies are already safe, comfortable, and being looked after. We appreciate your concern, but they do not need "saving".

• Please stop and think before sending us an enquiry. Are you impulsively applying to adopt her because of her appearance? Would you be messaging us if mumma was born with a "normal" nose?

• The amount of people who want to adopt mumma but not our other new tortie mumma is heartbreaking. Both mummas are perfect, along with their babies. Maybe we need to start posting up without photos so all of our rescue animals get an equal chance at finding homes.

• Our rescue has never worked as a first in first served kind of rescue. We match our rescue animals to their perfect foster and forever family, to give them their very best chance at never having to be in a similar position again.

Thank you again for your sincere concern and offers of assistance. We hope these people will offer to help in other situations where we are searching for foster carers for adult cats and mums with bubs.

If anyone would genuinely like to foster a cat/kitten or family with our rescue, and is not focused on what their foster baby looks like, please email us at [email protected] to discuss which of our foster babies would suit your home. Thank you 🙏

Welcome another family ❤️

This week we welcomed another new family into rescue from a nearby pound. This family needed a safe spot to relax and start their rescue journey.

Mumma is a tiny baby herself, and we are suspecting her to be only around 8 months old going by her brand new shiny adult teeth that have not long come through. She has done an amazing job raising her 5 babies, who are all in quite good health. The family are ranging in degrees of birth defects, with mumma having the most obvious facial/nasal deformities.

They will all be having their vet checks and vaccinations next week. We will then be looking for foster homes for them over the Christmas period.

Please reach out to us if you would be able to foster a couple of these little cuties whilst they have their vaccines, desex, and go up for adoption.

Welcome everyone ❤️❤️

Cauliflower 👨‍🦳

Our old boy had another dental procedure last week to remove some more of his broken teeth. He had a non healing extraction site from his last dental, where his upper canine teeth were removed. This site was cleaned out and burred, and re-sutured closed. He has also had both of his fractured lower canine teeth removed, and they both had abscesses on their roots. He is now left with quite an empty old man jaw, but he is now comfortable. ❤️

Since being in care we noticed that Cauliflower walks as though he has hip disease, so we had some hip x-rays done whilst he was under the anaesthetic. The x-rays show that he does indeed have pretty gnarley hips, with quite significant arthritic changes.

We have started Cauliflower on daily anti-inflammatories and joint supplements, as well as a monthly injection for pain called Solensia. We will be monitoring him over the next few weeks to see if these medications make a difference to his mobility. 🧑‍🦽

Welcome our newest family ❤️❤️

This gorgeous mumma and her two babies joined our rescue this week from a rural pound. Mum is suspected to be quite young, and was very underweight on arrival to the pound (and still is). She has one big chubby baby boy, and a tiny little grey girl. Our little grey girl is suspected to have Radial Aplasia, and will have xrays over the next couple of weeks to confirm this. She also has a large overbite and will require some dental work when she is a little bigger.

Our gorgeous family are doing two weeks of quarantine and will then have their vaccinations, and head off to their foster home for the Christmas period. They will then be looking for their forever homes in the New Year. 🏡

Welcome ❤️ ❤️

Bramble's adoption news 🎉🎉

It is confirmed, our gorgeous Bramble is being adopted, by her very own foster family who have loved and cared for her for over 3 years.

Bramble came into care with her brother Jester at a slightly older age than their other brothers Clive and Milton. They look a while to settle down after being raised on the street, but Bramble made a special bond with her foster humans and her foster furries.

Ali and Sean adopted one of our special rescues "Pete" back in 2018. They continued to foster some of our gorgeous adult female cats including Bramble who they took on in 2022. Bramble has spent 3 years looking for her forever home, but it turns out she has been sleeping in it all along.

Happy adoption Bramble, and Happy late Birthday to her dad Sean who asked to officially adopt Bramble for his birthday. ❤️

Stole Cauliflower's hidey hole, flicked all the bits of breakfast out of my bowl that I didn't want to eat, then fell asleep like a pretzel. Hadley has had a terribly tough day so far. 😵‍💫
