Thank you to everyone who has contacted us about our new family in care. We feel we need to clarify a few things, as being a small one person run admin team, we do not have time to go through many of the same messages on repeat.
• Mumma is not available for adoption at this time. As with all new intakes to our rescue, she will be doing her quarantine time, will have her first vet check and vaccination, and will have some downtime over Christmas to let her milk settle, and then she will go in for her desexing. How can we rehome an animal when we have no idea of their needs or personality?
• Mumma needs to be assessed by a surgeon to see if she would benefit from opening her nostrils to allow her to breath easier.
• Mumma and her babies are already safe, comfortable, and being looked after. We appreciate your concern, but they do not need "saving".
• Please stop and think before sending us an enquiry. Are you impulsively applying to adopt her because of her appearance? Would you be messaging us if mumma was born with a "normal" nose?
• The amount of people who want to adopt mumma but not our other new tortie mumma is heartbreaking. Both mummas are perfect, along with their babies. Maybe we need to start posting up without photos so all of our rescue animals get an equal chance at finding homes.
• Our rescue has never worked as a first in first served kind of rescue. We match our rescue animals to their perfect foster and forever family, to give them their very best chance at never having to be in a similar position again.
Thank you again for your sincere concern and offers of assistance. We hope these people will offer to help in other situations where we are searching for foster carers for adult cats and mums with bubs.
If anyone would genuinely like to foster a cat/kitten or family with our rescue, and is not focused on what their foster baby looks like, please email us at [email protected] to discuss which of our foster babies would suit your home. Thank you 🙏
