Diatomaceous Earth is the current craze in the dog world for intestinal parasites.

It's not a bandwagon you'll see me get on. In fact it sit in great opposition of it's use in meal toppers and raw food blends. WHY?

It's coarse and can cause many GI issues but also there isn't any strong studies to support its use or effectiveness.

Natural doesn't always mean safe or useful.

It's the go-to holistic meal topper for parasites. But it's one bandwagon I'l never get on. Diatomaceous Earth in my opinion should not be digested. Over the years I've seen too many bloated dogs and GI issues, that when this was removed from the diet, resolved.

It's a very coarse powder and there isn't any valid clinical studies to support the internal use of it for parasites and dogs.

While natural, it's certainly not on my list.

About Us:
Australian Pet Nutrition is a Darwin based premium human grade pet nutrition and nutraceutical company. We pride our self on raising the bar when it comes to standards in the industry, and animal health and welfare are right up our alley. We’re a family owned and run company with big dreams when it comes to animal health and wellbeing.

The Role:
This role is casual 10-15/week with the option for additional hours for the right person over time. Your job is to be based in our manufacturing facility packing our premium human-grade raw pet food. Yes, you will be handling meat, offal and bones so you must be ok with this! This is a physically demanding job and you will be required to be on your feet for your entire shift and able to lift 15-20kg. The position is based out our facility in Acacia Hills (20 mins from Palmerston).

We pay our staff above award and we reward your work ethic and commitment to upholding our core values.

Key Duties:

🐾Packing our bones into bags
🐾Packing our food blends into bags and tubs ready for sale
🐾Cleaning down at end of day
🐾Stock take

Essential Skills/Experience:

💪A committed work ethic and can-do attitude
💪Great attention to detail
💪Able to work fast with high level of accuracy
💪Demonstrated ability to follow instructions given by team members.
💪Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team.
💪Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks with limited supervision.
💪Ability to demonstrate great communication skills with people from diverse age and cultural backgrounds

Desired Skills/Experience:
🐾Experience in using a bone saw/ commercial mincer desirable but not necessary for the role

True maintaining good gut health in our pets is important.
