Edit … so I am changing back to old way and i will use a hobble buckle which will mean burning into strap (more fumes) but must be done .. then u have to watch over time this wears out too .. so will probably use pvc for the buckle too ..
I will leave It as a option if people really want the loop strap version

Front rug strap.. it’s been approx 12 months doing the new way so i want to check in.

Old way with better buckle…
or New way is working fine .. just had a few people request replacement straps so I gather they have been lost .. I do add a tag to remind people to do them back up when taking off rug but I guess easy to forget ..

Should I just add D’s on the bottom side to every one whether for motorbike or not as an extra option to try to tie down the back?
Perhaps reducing the extra top piece where the straps r so it sit even closer to the saddle ..
perhaps look at my pattern and really mould it around the back of the saddle ..

So I am putting together some items that may be needed..
🔹 Swimming bags to hold your flippers and whatever u need ..
🔹 Yetti water bottle holders for behind your saddle .. these r to suit 36oz but i can make the other sizes too.
🔹More square two ways pouches are my current project along with some double sides ones … I have some shoulder style ready already.
Working on getting orders out as well …

Wow.. just realised 😁😳🥰😌

🙌 Happy 21st to Bexrugs 🙌

I had the idea and desire for a few yrs and then when I became pregnant with Hayden whilst living remotely on a station (Cammeray) and needing something to do… Bexrugs was born ... named by Jaye Hall .. I paid for a service fee to Playrio with rugs and whilst delivering and talking about a name , Jaye suggested Bexrugs… and that was that it stuck.
My fist ever rug was given to Tony Hick for his 21st ..
No idea how many made in total now but
Many… and many additional reinforcements added to make them stronger etc .. pity the fittings and even material quality has decreased in that time though. Along with the many other items added to the production Iist.
I really would like to and have dreamed about growing the business into something really substantial but I have no idea where to start .. ideas ? Who to talk to?
At the same time considering a total career change. But then another nice message comes in or another order to add to my list and away we go again.
I am very proud of Bexrugs and don’t always realise what I have been able to make and do, business side not as much but still learning…
It has not been easy by any means ..
like many of us being pulled in many directions trying to please everyone (yes still haven’t learnt to say no) juggling family and raising 3 great kids.. sacrificing other things I love to try and make it all work!
A big thank you to everyone that has purchased even one item, or been a returning customer for some time. 💓
I really must also thank 2 ladies I rang for advice on how to go about making my pattern..
Kym Rogan was a great help to get the shaping right and the type of horse to use to get it right… Sue Jones gave me the pleat idea.
And ‘Jim’ Scott’s old horse was the model
He was locked up in a largish yard for 4 days or so so I could watch him and saw him roll etc .. and it didn’t move… 👍
Oh and also to Nanna, Scott’s mum who got me my first singer sewing machine (60yrs old at the time) which I still have that I had always planned to display at the front of the shop I always wanted to open.
