And again. Only a release video but no catch video. Silly me totally forgot to grab gopro on way out door. At least I had my phone to film release.

This eastern brown was removed from a property out at Hovells Creek. It was hanging around the horse and chook feed area. Animal food attracts mice and mice attract snakes.

If you have a bird aviary or a chook pen there's a very high chance you have a snake close by.

Releasing the snake removed from the rodent bait station.

This is a perfect example of an eastern browns defensive behaviour. When it thought I was too close, it turned and rared up, gaping its mouth to try and bluff me into moving back.

As soon as I did, you can see how it calmed down straight away.

These animals aren't aggressive, they are defensive and will only retaliate this way when they believe they have no other option.

Definitely not my finest moment.
Sometimes when a snake is moving fast, we have to anticipate where the tail will be to go for the grab.

As I went in this time it was just as the snake had stopped and changed direction.
Luckily it was only thinking about getting away, which they usually are.

Even with over 20 years of experience myself, you can see that us professionals still sometimes get it wrong and are always learning.
This is why you should never try to do this yourself, and just leave it to the trained professionals.

This large eastern brown was relocated from a garden in Brisbane Street, across from the Cowra hospital.
Haven't had a catch video for last couple of snakes as sometimes everything happens so fast and when I arrive at the job there is no time to get the camera ready.

This eastern brown was caught from under a house today. Definitely a difficult job with only a 1m high area to move in. Banged the knees up a bit but got it out.
