Float training this arvo for a few breakers. This little mare had the opposite problem usually encountered, when she turned up she was petrified of backing off. I think maybe this problem has the same basis as not wanting to get on, fear of the unknown, and she would lock up and couldn't go backwards because she couldnt see behind her. Locked up in the reactive side of her brain and not the responsive side. So she got to muck around half on, backing up, shifting her hips from side to side, until she was thinking response, and then she learned that she wasn't going to go off a cliff if she trusted me to go backwards. Then just repetition. Hopefully she'll be right now. I gave her more breaks than that, accelerated a bit at the end for the video.

Nick going home today with more miles under his belt. Seriously good horse from a good home looking for a new one. Work, challenge, draft, show with more time under saddle. If I had unlimited money, land and space on the float he would already be in my paddock.
