Vale Marty - he came to us as an 8 yo stray who found himself in the pound, waiting for an owner who never came. As an older dog with a couple of health issues there was zero adoption interest for him, so here he stayed 💕A lovable big goof, he loved car rides, paddock walks, pizza & ear scritches. His love for people, his chickens & baby goats was matched only by his utter loathing of thunderstorms, grooming & vet visits. We've laid him to rest under the big mango tree so he's near his beloved chickens....you'll be so missed Marty, rest easy mate & I'll see you on the other side 🌈

Miss Pluma with her happy face & then, with her serious face 😊

This super sweet cuddly girl is looking for just the right home. Turned 4 yo last month, Pluma is desexed, chipped & up to date with vaccinations & heartworm prevention.
She would ideally suit small acreage where she will still be part of the family & she would adore other canine company.
She is safe with chickens & goats ie. very relaxed with no chasing or aggressive behaviour & shows nice protective instinct to work forward with.

Not suited to large property work with minimal people contact....she needs a family 🥰

Shockingly, she would also be totally happy being a couch potato 😆 no nuisance behaviours, not a big barker, just a really lovely girl 🩷

Unfortunately we have to turn more than we'd like away 🫤
That's mostly because we have to consider our permanent residents...dogs that simply aren't rehomeable....dogs that are elderly, or they're either physically or temperarentally unsound or unaccepting of re-bonding These dogs are all out of options....so we keep them.
They have a safe home here & perhaps we're more sanctuary than rescue 🩷

She passed peacefully in her sleep last night - it feels both like where did the time go & she's been here forever 💔

An ex backyard breeding dog who was abandoned once she was too old for any more puppies & had a few health issues, Winnie found herself in the Townsville pound, where their wonderful team gave her the veterinary assistance she so desperately needed.
Then she came to us & as an older girl there was not a lot of adoption interest for her, so here she stayed 🩷

She loved pizza, thunderstorms, sedate swims in the dam, the cats, her chickens & Chiefy, her soulmate 😊

I know Zara & Ike will have been waiting impatiently at the bridge for you, missing you as much as I do now.....off you go Winnie-Woo, fly high & I'll see you on the other side sweets 🌈

We are currently inundated with surrender requests & have no capacity to take on further dogs.......I am sorry, & feel totally like we're letting the dogs down...but we are totally personally funded, along with a couple of wonderful donors....and we can only take what we can comfortably house & take proper care of. That's the bottom line.

We cannot save them all....the most heartbreaking truth I learnt working in rescue 🌼
