📦🐴 **WORMSCOPE IS MOVING!**

After many years of testing from Cessnock, it’s time for a new chapter for WormScope. 🩵

With our big move just around the corner, **WormScope will be taking a short break for a few weeks while we relocate and get the new testing space set up.**

📍 **Our Cessnock drop-off service has now finished**, so samples can no longer be left at our current location.

But this definitely isn’t goodbye!

📮 **WormScope is moving to our postal testing service.**

We’ve been trialling postal samples over the past few months and it has been working brilliantly, so once we're settled, clients will be able to send samples directly to us for testing.

And with our **new Customer Portal now live**, your reports, testing history, parasite trends and recommendations will all be available in one place.

We’ll let you know as soon as testing reopens and provide the new postal address and simple instructions for sending your samples.

A huge **thank you** to all of our Cessnock and Lower Hunter clients who have dropped samples at our door over the years. Your support has helped WormScope grow into what it is today, and thankfully postal testing means we can continue looking after you from our new home. 🩵

📦 A quick update for our local Lower Hunter WormScope clients.

With our move just around the corner (only 3 weeks to go!), we're reminding anyone planning to have a Faecal Egg Count completed to book in soon if you'd like to use our current Cessnock drop-off service.

Once we've relocated, WormScope will continue operating with Australia-wide postal testing, making it easy to send samples from anywhere in the country.

We'll also be based on the Mid North Coast, ready to support local horse owners in our new community.

Using the Modified McMaster technique, each faecal egg count helps build a clearer picture of your horse's parasite status. But the numbers are only part of the story.

Some days end with microscopes…

Today’s samples have been examined, results are being finalised, and apparently my supervisor has decided my mouse pad is the perfect place for a nap. 🤍🐱

Running WormScope means every report is prepared with care, even if it sometimes takes a little longer with a sleeping assistant on the desk!

🪱 PARASITE SPOTLIGHT

Strongyles are among the most common parasites detected during Faecal Egg Count testing.

While many horses carry some level of strongyles, not every horse sheds the same number of eggs. In fact, a relatively small number of horses are often responsible for the majority of pasture contamination.

That’s why Faecal Egg Count testing is so valuable. It helps identify which horses may benefit from treatment while avoiding unnecessary deworming in others.

Remember, not all stages of strongyles can be detected in a standard Faecal Egg Count, which is why strategic seasonal parasite management remains important.
