both native and exotic animals, as well as the largest inland saltwater tank in Australia, there is something for everyone. Wander in and have a casual stroll around the park, or make a day of it with family, friends and make use of our picnic areas and complimentary BBQ facilities. We are best known for our amazing "up close and personal" animal encounters, which provide visitors with an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the worlds most amazing creatures!

Thu 19/6: Cubs Club; Oceans theme, learn about how our Leopard Shark reproduced without a male!, meet at the Boat in AQ @ 4.15pm!

Cubs Club is a fantastic Members Arvo for you and your little one!

These 30min sessions are only open to members, with information posted in our Members Newsletter.

Each month will have a different theme with an animal talk targeted at Primary aged children and a colouring competition.

We are focusing on World Oceans Day this month and we invite you to learn all about the sharks and rays here at our Aquarium!

The session will include a special kids focused keeper talk and see the keeper feed the rays!

Pick up your colouring in Competition on the day and return by 27th of June for the chance to win an encounter with the rays!

We also wanted to let you know that we have another members event, Sat 21/6: Couples Afternoon Tea, Bistro @ 3.30pm, meet at Zebra enclosure at 3.45pm

🍃Happy World Environment Day🍃

Each year, everyone in the world reflects upon their footprint on earth 🌏

As a Zoological facility our goals and purposes align with those that support conservation, preservation and protection of species all over the world 🤗

It goes without saying that to do this we must also protect the environment, a huge collection of specific ecosystems 🪸

Whether it’s grasslands, mangroves, oceans, rainforests and all others, these special places are important networks for all the amazing unique species 🌟

The theme this year is ‘Putting an End to Plastic Pollution’, so let’s take a moment to consider our use of plastics, the impact and how we dispose of it.

Last night Canberra’s sky was painted with the most gorgeous red thanks to Aurora Australis 🌕

Canberrans and other light show chasers travelled to all sorts of spots around our beautiful city to catch a glimpse 📷

Lucky for us Aurora Australis decided to illuminate our beautiful zoo and all our animals enjoyed a stunning night sky🌟

Sun Bears and Koalas

Is There a Bear in There?

Bring your little ones along to the zoo for a morning of fun and discovery as we uncover the bear facts about our grizzly and not so grizzly furry friends.

Along the way we will be meeting a few of our bears and un-bears who really, really don't like to be called bears.

For story time, Warren the surly koala with a bugbear for being tarred with the brush of bear will enlighten us to the unbearable mislabelling plight of koalas Australia wide.

Watch as the sun bears delight in their own teddy bear picnic and have fun creating koala ear head bands to wear as we visit our friends around the zoo.

Session time 10am on the 4th and 11th of June

Meeting at No.16 on the Zoo map at the bbq shelter near meerkats
