Please be advised reconstruction of the livestock yards adjoining the Campdraft Arena is commencing this weekend.
The old existing yards will be completely removed and replaced with new custom-designed yards providing safe use and improved animal welfare for many years to come.
The works are being coordinated by the Campdraft club with thanks to New South Wales government for the $85,000 grant.
There is an exclusion zone around the livestock yards and although the area is open all visitors should avoid being in close proximity to the work zone. The livestock yards are closed. The works will be ongoing particularly on weekends for the next few months.

🚧 Fencing Upgrade Works Now Underway at Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park!
Good news for the safety of our park users and their horses, we’ve started replacing approximately 1,100 metres of boundary fencing along Cawdor Road and 450 metres around one end of the Polocrosse Arena.
The new galvanised steel fencing meets the latest horse and livestock-safe standards set by the BEP Reference Group. You’ll see a three-rail design along the boundaries and a single-rail configuration for the Polocrosse Arena, complete with bar gates where needed.
The old fencing (a mix of timber and aged barbed wire on the boundary, and the original Polocrosse fence that’s been there for over 20 years) had reached the end of its life and was becoming a safety concern. The new fencing is built to last over 50 years and performs much better in flood conditions.
Please note: You may hear loud pneumatic noise in the area over the coming weeks while construction is underway.
Works are progressing well and are expected to be completed in the next 4–5 weeks.
Thanks for your patience as we make the park safer and better for everyone! 🐎

Dear Recreational Riders,

As you may be aware, Camden Show is being held on Friday 20th & Saturday 21st March 2026, and in preparation, increased activity in the Equestrian Park will be evident. Set-up has already commenced, with the installation of temporary fencing and other items now underway.

The Park remains open, and recreational riding throughout is still business as usual. However, please take extra care around vehicles moving around the area during this preparation period.

We suggest that all recreational riders remain vigilant and courteous when sharing the space with show-related traffic and equipment.

We'll provide updates and of any restrictions as Camden Show approaches.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation as we prepare for another great Camden Show!

’Twas the night before Christmas at Camden’s Horse Park,
All quiet and peaceful, no hoofbeats in the dark.
The rugs hung with care on the yards in a row,
While ponies dreamed sweetly in the soft moonlight glow.

When up on the rooftop there arose such a clatter—
St. Nicholas landed with reindeer and chatter!
Dressed jolly in red, with a sack full of cheer,
He leaped from his sleigh and called loud for all to hear:

“Remove all the baling twine—take it away clean!
Use only the washbays for horse washing, I mean!
Clean out your yards after every use, please,
Leave them tidy and raked, if you’d be so at ease.
Report any dog barks to Council right away,
And close every gate behind you—night or day!"

He filled buckets with hay, carrots shiny and bright,
Winked with a twinkle, then sprang to take flight.
As he drove out of sight with his reindeer so light,
He exclaimed,
“Merry Christmas to all members and families—goodnight!”
