Not My Dog Pet Services

Not My Dog Pet Services In-house Pet Sitting, House Visits & Dog Walking. Servicing Penrith and surrounding areas. Hi there! Spoiler alert: he’s not. Got other fur babies? Bring ’em on!

We accept almost all animals and breeds, big or small! 🐶🐱🐰🐢🐦🐔🐭🐹

We don’t just look after your furry pals - we care for them as if they were our own. I’m Jade, an animal lover who’s basically a human version of a Golden Retriever: super active, always outdoors, and ridiculously friendly. I have an American Staffy, a cheeky boy who’s convinced he’s the boss. Adventure is my middle name (okay, it’s

not, but it should be), and my Staffy is my sidekick on every escapade. Whether we’re playing fetch, tug-of-war, or seeing who can run around the park the fastest (he usually wins), we’re always on the move. With three years of wrangling my stubborn and mischievous Amstaff, I’ve become a pro at handling cheeky dogs. I love hiking, walking, and just hanging out with animals. When looking after your fur babies, I always ensure they are comfortable and maintain their routine as much as possible to avoid any extra stress while you are away, and will always send updates throughout the booking duration so you know your fur babies are in good hands and loving life (and probably plotting how to extend their vacation indefinitely after all the belly rubs they’ll get!). I’m game for walking giant dogs (40kg+), but only if they’re not planning to drag me down the street or they’re cool with wearing a Halti. While I’ve never owned cats or small critters like rabbits or guinea pigs, I’ve lived with them and picked up some handy tips from housemates. Rest assured, your pets will be pampered and loved as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet your adorable animals! 😊

Did You Know Your Dog’s Teeth Need Regular Care Too? 🐶🦷

Just like us, dogs can develop plaque, tartar and dental disease if their teeth aren’t looked after. Regular brushing can help keep their teeth and gums healthier and their breath a little less… doggy! 😂

🐾 Use a toothbrush designed for dogs
🪥 Always use dog-friendly toothpaste — never human toothpaste
🍗 Start slowly and make it a positive experience with plenty of praise and patience

Some dogs will happily accept having their teeth brushed. Others may act like you’re attempting to steal their entire mouth! 😂

The key is to introduce it gradually and find what works for your pup.

And remember, regular brushing is great for preventative care, but it doesn’t replace professional dental checks with your vet. ❤️

Healthy teeth = happier smiles! 🐾😁

Meet Rocky the Cavoodle! 🐶💙

Rocky can be a little nervous when meeting new people, and my first visit without his pawrents was no exception. He wasn’t quite sure about me at first!

But then I discovered the secret to Rocky’s heart…

🎾 FETCH! 🎾😂

A few rounds of fetch later, Rocky started coming out of his shell, and before long, I went from “Who is this stranger?” to “Okay, you can stay… and you can definitely give me pats!” 🥰

It didn’t take long before he was happily asking for pats and cuddles. 💕

Sometimes you just need to find the thing a pet loves and let them decide when they’re ready to trust you.

For Rocky, apparently the path to friendship is paved with tennis balls! 😂🐾

Meet Old Mate & Taco… The Cats Who Have Made It Very Clear I Am NOT Their Friend. 🐱

I've visited these two a few times now, and let's just say… we're still working on our relationship. Old Mate and Taco are very much a "we only like our pawrents" kind of cats. And honestly, they don't seem interested in changing their minds anytime soon! 😆

As you can see from their faces, they're absolutely thrilled when I do my little detective check to make sure they're actually under the covers. 😂

Occasionally, I'll spot one of them hiding between the sliding doors, but most of the time they're safely tucked away where I apparently cannot reach them.

And that's completely okay. ❤️

Because the best care isn't always about forcing interaction. Some pets need space, patience and minimal disruption, especially when they're already nervous about their humans being away.

So my visits with these two are every second day, which allows me to:
🐾 Top up their dry food
🐾 Give them fresh wet food
🐾 Refresh their water
🐾 Scoop their litter
🐾 Check they're safe and doing okay

…and then leave them alone to continue ignoring me. 😂
No chasing. No forced pats. No trying to win them over.
Just calm, respectful care at their pace. 💛

Maybe one day they'll decide I'm worthy of a sniff. I'll keep dreaming. 😂🐾

Granita, Budino & Nutella are back! 🐾

I believe this is my third time looking after these three, which means I should be a familiar face by now… right? 😆

Well… Granita has other ideas. 😂

Granita is a nervous girl when it comes to strangers, and even though I’m not really a stranger anymore, I still have to earn her trust again each time I visit.

And apparently, the way to Granita’s heart is through her stomach. ❤️😂

Our trust-building program included:
🐷 Pigs ears
🦴 Bones
🦴 Lots of treats
🥣 And, rather importantly… me holding her food bowl while she eats!

Because apparently eating alone is simply unacceptable when Jade could be providing five-star personal dining service. 😂

At the beginning, she wouldn’t even take treats from my hand. I had to gently throw them her way and let her decide whether I was trustworthy enough to accept them.

But I never rush her. ❤️

Over the next few days, little by little, Granita started coming closer. Then she was taking treats from my hand… and eventually, she even let me pat her! 🥹💕

If you flick through the photos and videos, you can see that little journey happening.

For nervous pets, trust isn’t something you can force or fast-track. It takes patience, consistency and letting them move at their pace.

And honestly? Watching that moment when a nervous pet finally decides, “Okay… I think you’re alright” is one of the best parts of my job. 🥰

I think Granita and I are getting there… although I suspect I’ll still need to bring snacks next time. 😂🐾

Not every pet is going to welcome a new person with open paws… and that’s okay!

For some pets, meeting a stranger can be a little overwhelming. That’s why i always recommend a Meet & Greet before booking. 💛

It gives your pet a chance to meet me in their own space, get comfortable with my voice and presence, and decide whether I am worthy of their trust (and their snacks 😆).

It also gives you the chance to get to know me, ask questions and feel confident about who you’re leaving your fur baby with.

And honestly… watching a nervous pet slowly warm up is one of my favourite parts of the job. 🥹

Sometimes that means sitting quietly nearby. Sometimes it means bribery with treats. And sometimes… apparently I become furniture. 😂

Big dog? Little dog? Shy cat?
We’ll go at their pace. 🐶🐱💕

Meet Lexi! 🐶💛

I had the pleasure of visiting this gorgeous girl twice a day while her pawrents enjoyed a well-deserved holiday.

Leaving your pet for the first time can be nerve-wracking, and Lexi’s pawrents were naturally a little worried. That’s why I made sure to send regular updates and plenty of photos, so they could relax knowing she was happy, safe and being thoroughly spoiled. 🥰

Lexi greeted me every visit with enough excitement to power a small town! 😂 Once she’d finished her happy dance, it was time for her favourite activity… head massages. I’m pretty sure she thought I’d been hired as her personal massage therapist rather than her pet sitter! 🤭

With the warm weather, my morning visits involved bringing Lexi inside before it got too hot, while the afternoons included dinner, fresh water topped up with ice, and of course, lots of cuddles and attention.

Seeing her settle into our routine over those few days was so rewarding, and by the end of my visits, I think she’d decided I was pretty alright… especially when the head scratches started! 💛

Did You Know? Cats Need Playtime Too! 🎉 🐱

Cats might have a reputation for being independent, but they still need regular play and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. 💛

Interactive toys like:
🎣 Wand toys
⚽ Balls
🔴 Laser pointers (always finish with a toy they can “catch”)
🐭 Toy mice

…help satisfy their natural hunting instincts and keep both their body and mind active.

Regular playtime can also:
🐾 Reduce boredom
🐾 Help prevent unwanted behaviours like scratching furniture or knocking things off shelves (yes, they’re looking at your favourite vase! 😂)
🐾 Keep them fit and maintain a healthy weight
🐾 Strengthen the bond between you and your cat

Even just 10–15 minutes of play each day can make a big difference to your cat’s wellbeing.

And if your cat isn’t interested straight away, don’t worry! Finding what they enjoy is all part of the fun.

A happy, stimulated cat is often a more relaxed and content cat. 🐈💙

Meet Sonik 🐾

I had the pleasure of staying with Sonik for a little over a week while his pawrents were on holidays, and we packed plenty into our nights together! From walking adventures and playtime to endless pats and cuddles, this handsome boy certainly kept me busy. 💙

One thing I quickly learnt… if you’re eating tacos around Sonik, be prepared for the world’s most intense stare. 🌮👀 He looked at them like they were clearly meant for him. Nice try, mate… these tacos are mine! 😂

When it’s walk time, Sonik is all systems GO! 🐕💨 He loves getting out and exploring, always ready for the next adventure.

Once he’s burned off some energy though, he’s a total snuggle bug… until he suddenly decides, “Okay, that’s enough cuddles now,” gets up and walks away like nothing happened. 🤣

It was such a pleasure spending the week with this gorgeous boy, and I already can’t wait for our next adventure together! 🐾💛

Some Dogs Fetch… Leo Collects. 😂🎾

Meet the very handsome Leo, a French Bulldog with one very serious hobby… BALLS! 🐶💛

The game starts out simple enough. I throw the ball. Leo chases it. Leo catches it…

…and then comes the real challenge.

Getting it back! 🤣

Leo has clearly decided that possession is 9/10ths of the law, because once he picks his ball, that’s it. No trades. No negotiations. No “I’ll swap you for this other ball.” Even if I have two balls, he’s not interested. He’s made his choice and he’s sticking with it! 🎾😂

The only thing powerful enough to convince Leo to part with his prized possession?

🍖 Food!

The moment dinner or treats appear, the ball is suddenly yesterday’s news. Priorities, right? 😆

It’s always a pleasure spending time with this goofy little guy. Whether we’re playing fetch (or should I say keep-away), having pats, or enjoying some tasty treats, Leo always keeps me smiling. ❤️🐾

Four Walks a Week… and Now It’s Time to Say See You Later, Lily! 💕

For quite a while, Lily and I spent four days a week together, exploring the neighbourhood, having lots of sniff breaks, and burning off some energy. 🐶🐾

But now, thanks to a change in her pawrents’ work schedules, they get to spend more time with her and take her on her walks themselves. ❤️

Good news for Lily: More adventures with Mum and Dad!
Bad news for me: I don’t get my regular Lily cuddles and happy greetings anymore. 🥺

I’ve heard through the grapevine that she’s been missing me… and if I’m honest, I miss her too! 💕

One of the hardest parts of this job is saying goodbye to the pets you become so close to. But knowing they’re spending more time with the people they love most makes it all worthwhile. 🥰

See you again one day, beautiful Lily. Give your pawrents lots of love from me… and maybe save me a few tail wags for next time. 🐾💛
