Impeccable K9 Impeccable K9 is a dog training business to help build the bond with your K9 stronger Hi, I am Tamika. I was fascinated with how dogs learnt and loved to work.

I am a IMDT Qualified Dog trainer and have a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training. I started dog training at a young age helping my mum train our german shepherds over the years. I dove more into dog training when I got my first pet retail job and got my first dog, Alexis a working line german shepherd. I soon took interest with her in multiple different training opportunities from obed

ience, tricks, agility and more. I created Impeccable K9 to help owners build a stronger bond with their fur babies and to help guide owners with training their fur babies into well mannered dogs. Impeccable K9 provides owners with multiple services available to them to be able to give the best training opportunities to their fur babies, from puppy Pre-school, one on one consults for individual tailored training, group classes both in person and via zoom giving clients with dogs that are nervous, or reactive to be in a class an opportunity to join in on the training fun!

Ritters attempt at IMDT Level 4: Sendaway

“Handler to send dog to target. 10 meters away. Dog is to sit or down on the target”

I chose indoors and in his crate as this was best for him for distance and he knows where his crate is.

Delta working on her IMDT partnership grade level 4: Sendaway

“Handler to send dog to a target. 10 meters away. Dog to sit or down on the Target”

I moved the bed from where the previous dogs were doing it as Delta was reluctant to go to the bed and would stop at the gate.

Understanding canine stress signals is truly the most effective way to help our furry companions feel secure and heard.
1. Begin by watching for early signs of discomfort, like a dog choosing to look away or wander off to sniff, which prevents them from feeling pressured.
2. Recognize that when a dog turns their body or sits during an interaction, they are trying to communicate that they have had enough.
3. Look for physical changes like hackles raising, as this is a physiological response that shows your dog is feeling defensive.
4. Respect the moment your dog tenses up or leans forward, as this indicates they are ready to react to protect themselves.
5. Give your dog plenty of physical space if you notice them stiffening or staring, because these are classic signs of building frustration.
Being proactive about these early warnings usually stops behavior issues before they ever become a real problem.

"Dog in down, handler to go out of sight (min 10 metres away) for 2 minutes. Dog to remain in down until handler returns"

Challenges - 1. The hallway I hide behind leads to my office which is where their treats are at so they usually come running. 2. The others are in their crates but can come out of the crate. 3. There is a bit of background noise. 4. Cat moving around.

P.s. I do stick my head around the corner a couple of times as Alexis heard a noise and barked and came out the crate so making sure she wasn't being a distraction. Ritter is also blind and can't see me.
