Something Else I want to share. This isn't dog related but it's 100% community related.
Andy is a huge part of so many community groups and he has to be one of the most selfless and generous people I've ever met.
I even remember saying to him one day "you volunteer here too" lol! If there's an event to advocate and celebrate special people in our community, Andy is there.
I also remember Andy taking Ryder out on the bay in a glass bottom canoe and he just kept going and going cos that's what Ryder wanted.
Now it's our turn to give back.
Even in the events that have come about, Andy is still giving back to his community and despite his diagnosis he's still thinking of others.
This weekend is Andy's Community Event and he is raising funds for 3 great charities.

I wanted to share something really special.
I know this isn't dog related but this is my amazing son, the one I've had to take to hospital so frequently and cancel classes to do so.
We're so proud of him! Despite all the hurdels he's been having lately, he hasn't let that take away doing what he loves!

Today we had two new training groups out in the orchard.
Our Beginners introduced their dogs to truffle scent and scentwork foundations.
Then everyone got a turn of finding and harvesting some truffles Allegro and I had marked out before having a little go at working independently in the orchard.
Then the Refresher group came in for their turn and we started the lesson with a reintroduction to what they learnt last year and then everyone got a chance to find and harvest some of the truffles Allegro and I had marked out for training purposes and then everyone was assigned their rows and off they went.
A great harvest from both teams today (1st pic) and then adding in what Allegro found to complete the day and fill up the bag (2nd pic).
Currently all our groups are underway but of you're keen to give truffle training a go send your EOI for our upcoming July courses to [email protected]

Well Done to Winston, Maisy, Poppy and Scooby for braving the weather and coming to join Allegro and I to find truffle in the non-stop rain!
You all did great today and I'm really proud of you all.
Check out how much truffle we got today in our hunt session this morning!
That was a heavy bag to lug back to the car 😅 the mud made the truffle so much heavier!!

I always forget to take photos/videos cos I'm so involved in the teaching part.... but I wanted to share.
Today in Going All The Way we moved away from the substance detection side of scentwork and we moved onto tracking instead for something totally different.
Some great work from our dogs today but I really wanted to highlight that our clients got a look at how that nose really works and even though they might think their dog 'doesn't get it' sometimes, this was the eye opener they really needed!
Not everyone got to see their own dog in action as they followed the track their owner had made but watching each dog work was a great way to see and learn the process and see that their dog 'really does get it'.
I think it's safe to say everyone left class feeling like they learnt something new, feeling proud of their dogs and they had really achieved something today.
I love sharing my knowledge and experience with everyone and I hope that shows!
I'm so stinkin proud of all of you today 👏👏

A couple of spots have become available for our Friday Truffle Beginner Group commencing this Friday 12th June.
If you are interested in a spot please email your EOI to [email protected] for a registration form and more information.

Likewise we also have spots for our Refresher Course on Thursday..
This course is for anyone who's completed a truffle course previously (the last couple of seasons).

We will be hosting more courses in July as well so please get in touch to register your EOI if you are wanting to enrol.
