Hi everyone it’s Jodie here, long time no see!👋🏻
I still help out feeding the yaps cats on the weekends as well as doing some fostering to help cats find their new furrever homes.
Little Emily is one of my most recent yaps foster cats and because of her age she doesn’t get many meet ‘n’ greets which I think is quite sad!
So I’m reaching out on here to see if anyone might have room in their house for this cute little senior lady?! I know a few of our regular senior boarding cats have sadly passed away in the last 12 months so maybe someone out there is now ready for a new feline friend again? 👀

A big part of fostering animals in need is HELPING THEM, NOT KEEPING THEM, and I would love to help foster heaps more cats so no “you should keep her” comments please. 😉

A bit about Emily:
🔸miss independent.
🔸very small built cat.
🔸loves her food, not fussy at all.
🔸yaps recently had her teeth checked and cleaned so she has a fabulous new smile …
🔸is approx 8/9 years old.
🔸not a fan at all of other cats getting too close to her - she will tell them off quite loudly.
🔸might be best in an only cat household.
🔸has somehow tolerated a Jack Russell so MAY be ok with a small dog.
🔸loves sleeping.

Wishing all of our customers and their Cats a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.
It has been a pleasure looking after so many wonderful cats this year and we look forward to seeing many more in 2026.

We are fully booked until 2nd January with limited availability from 5th January. Our Office will be closed for the next 2 days, (& New Years Day) however our amazing staff will remain on site looking after our boarders. *CALLING ALL BIG DOGS & CATS*

We are in urgent need of blood donors to help save lives here at Emergency Vets 24/7!

If you’re interested in your dog or cat becoming a donor, there are a few requirements needed:
• Must be between 1-9 years of age
• Heavier than 23kg for dogs, heavier than 5kg for cats
• Up to date with vaccinations and parasite prevention (flea, tick and worming including heartworm)
• Must not have received a blood transfusion before
• Must not have any chronic illnesses
• Must have never received tick paralysis antiserum before

In exchange for animals donating their blood so we can potentially save others lives, they receive a full blood workup before undergoing donation once a year, IV fluid therapy to replace the volume of blood taken, a warm chicken dinner, a bravery certificate and their photo on our wall of hero's.

The Young Animal Protection Society (YAPS) is on the prowl for an experienced Office Administrator/Cleaner with outstanding communication/customer service and office/clerical skills, along with a strong eye for detail & general cleaning skills to join our team. This is a casual position for 3 days a week in our Boarding Cattery, located in Bungalow, and will include weekends, public holidays & split shifts. This will typically be 2 days in the office and at least one cleaning shift each week. Minimum of 20 hours per week with the potential to pick up more during busy periods and staff holidays. A valid driver’s license with own reliable transport is a must.

Responsibilities
· Unlocking and preparing for cleaning staff arrival, inc. cat food preparation
· Administering medications where required including diabetic injections
· Answer phones, emails and greet customers in-person, tending to any questions/concerns in a professional manner.
· Check in & out Boarding Cats, taking payments and ensuring all information is recorded on each animal
· Stock ordering and general shopping
· Gather and load information into computer system with the ability to fully utilize our Pet Admin program as well as Microsoft Office software (word, excel)
· Perform other office/administrative support work and maintaining records (i.e. filing, copying, end of day settlement, rosters, timesheets, general paperwork etc.)
· Ensuring all cats are in good health, at all times. This requires sound knowledge of animal behaviour, good observational skills and the ability to interact with cats safely.
· Booking and attending veterinarian appointments where necessary
· Preparing and thinking ahead. Inc. room allocations, set up & paperwork
· Supervising staff to ensure all tasks are performed in a timely and efficient manner. Recognising and allocating additional tasks where necessary.
· Cleaning up poo’s, spews and changing/cleaning litter trays
· Feeding cats and changing bowls/water
· Keeping kitchen tidy including dishes, laundry duties, toping up dry foods
· Vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping and sanitizing with F10. This requires being up and down a step ladder regularly.
· Maintain strong records of cat’s day to day behaviour/habits and reporting anything out of the ordinary to the duty manager
· Brushing, petting, cleaning eyes/bums and any other care necessary to make a cat feel comfortable and safe

Hi all! It’s Jodie here! 🙋‍♀️
The time has come for me to pursue new adventures and sadly move on from my duty manager / office role in cat boarding.
I have been here 11 years all up but 8 years as a duty manager.
I will be handing this page over to Jo and Bianca this week and I’m sure their Facebook posts will keep you all entertained just as much as mine have over the years. 😉
(no pressure ladies).
You will still see me out the back with the boarding cats from time to time, I will miss them all too much otherwise! 😢
