💔 Urgent Foster Carer Needed 💔

We've been contacted by a Ranger about this beautiful girl, and we simply couldn't ignore her story.

She has now spent almost two months in kennels, waiting for someone to give her a chance. It is breaking all of our hearts to know she is still there.

She is a friendly, happy girl who enjoys being around people, but she will need someone who is prepared to put in the time, patience and training she deserves. She isn't looking for someone expecting a ready-made dog. She needs someone willing to help her learn and thrive.

Ebony is ready to find a loving home and is available for adoption. While she waits, we're also urgently looking for a foster carer who can offer her a safe place to stay.

As a foster-based rescue, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes, which means we get to know their personalities, routines and the type of home where they'll thrive. We don't have a shelter you can visit, but that doesn't stop you from adopting through SAFE.

SAFE Bunbury is urgently looking for a foster carer for four gorgeous 11-week-old kittens. (we can split them up)

This adorable group includes two black kittens and two tabbies, and they urgently need a safe, loving foster home.

At the moment, SAFE Bunbury has no backup foster carers available, so we are relying on our amazing community to help us give these kittens somewhere safe to stay while they wait for their new homes.

Fostering saves lives. SAFE provides support and covers approved veterinary care. All you need to provide is a caring home, love and a little time.

💙 SAFE Bunbury is here to stay, and we are focused on what matters most, saving the lives of companion animals in the South West.

SAFE Bunbury remains part of SAFE Inc, Western Australia's largest foster based rescue, and we are committed to continuing our work in the Bunbury community.

Every day, animals still need somewhere safe to go. They need foster homes, veterinary care, food, and compassionate people willing to give them a second chance. That is exactly what SAFE Bunbury is here to do.

We've received questions about what the future looks like, so we'd like to reassure our community that SAFE Bunbury is continuing to operate. Funds raised to support SAFE Bunbury, stay in Bunbury to help provide veterinary treatment, desexing, vaccinations, food, parasite prevention and the everyday care our foster animals need while they wait for adoption.

Like every SAFE branch across WA, each animal is assessed individually. We consider their welfare, the safety of our volunteers and the community, and whether we have the right foster home and resources to give them the best opportunity to thrive.

The more support we have from our community, the more animals we can save.

💙 Change Can Be Challenging, But Change Can Also Be Positive 💙

At SAFE, every decision we make is guided by one question:

How do we ensure we can continue helping animals not just today, but for many years to come?

Sustainability is not about doing what is easiest. It is about doing what is necessary to build an organisation that can continue saving lives long after the current volunteers, foster carers, coordinators, managers and board members have moved on.

SAFE has been helping animals for decades because passionate people before us were willing to make difficult decisions that strengthened the organisation for the future. Today, we have the same responsibility to those who will come after us.

Change can feel uncomfortable. It can raise questions and create uncertainty. But standing still is not always the safest option. Sometimes growth requires us to adapt, improve our systems, strengthen our governance, and ensure that every dollar, every volunteer hour and every resource is used as effectively as possible for the animals in our care.

Our commitment remains unchanged.

🐾 An Update on SAFE Bunbury 🐾

We want to reassure our supporters, foster carers, adopters, volunteers and the wider Bunbury community that SAFE Bunbury will continue to operate as part of SAFE Inc.

Recently, members of the current core volunteer team advised SAFE Inc of their intention to establish an independent rescue organisation. We would like to sincerely thank them for the time, dedication and care they have given to animals in need over many years. Their contribution to animal welfare in the Bunbury region has been significant and is appreciated.

For those wondering what this means for SAFE Bunbury, the answer is simple: SAFE Bunbury is continuing.

All animals currently in SAFE Bunbury's care remain fully supported by SAFE Inc, and our priority remains exactly what it has always been, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the animals who rely on us.

There will be no interruption to the care of animals currently in foster care, veterinary treatment, adoption processes or support for foster carers. SAFE Inc is working closely with its leadership team to ensure a smooth transition and continued service to the Bunbury community.

Over the coming weeks, we will be appointing a new management team to lead SAFE Bunbury into its next chapter. We are committed to building on the branch's strong foundations while continuing to focus on animal welfare, community support, good governance and positive outcomes for animals.

To our foster carers, volunteers, adopters, veterinary partners and supporters, thank you for your continued support. Your compassion and dedication make a genuine difference to the lives of animals every day.

Together, we will continue helping animals in need throughout the Bunbury region.
