🩸🐾 DOGS SAVE LIVES 🐾🩸
Scruffy’s is teaming up with NEVS & Pet Specialists Veterinary Referral Hospital to help build a Canine Blood Donor List ❤️
A single blood donation can help save multiple dogs in emergency and critical care situations.
We are currently looking for healthy dogs who meet the following criteria:
✔️ 2–6 years old preferably but up to 8 years is fine.
✔️ Over 25kg
✔️ Up to date with vaccinations
✔️ Up to date with parasite prevention
✔️ Not currently on medication
✔️ Have never received a blood transfusion
If your dog is suitable and you’d like to join the donor list, simply speak to reception — we have forms available to fill out 🐶
If a donation is urgently needed while your dog is at Scruffy’s, our team will text you to confirm you’re happy for them to donate and, once approved, we will assist with transporting them directly to the hospital if required.
Together, we can help save lives ❤️

POV: we only know you as “Bella’s mum” or “Charlie’s dad.” 😂🐾

We promise we’re not being rude if we see you out in the real world and look slightly confused for a second. Our brains are trained to recognise the dogs first.

The amount of times we’ve walked past a client only to realise who they are once their dog appears is honestly embarrassing. 🤦‍♀️😂

Working in dog daycare means we remember your dog’s quirks, best friends, favourite games and zoomie style before we remember actual human faces. ❤️

So if we don’t recognise you straight away outside of Scruffy’s, please just show us your dog and it’ll all click into place. 🐶

Look, we promise we’re not here to judge. Dogs are dogs. They jump, pull, bark, ignore recalls, steal socks and suddenly forget every command they’ve ever learnt the second they get excited.

But the more honest you are with us, the more we can help. ❤️

Whether it’s training, daycare or grooming, being upfront about behaviours, struggles and routines helps us create the best experience possible for your dog. Because trust us… we can usually tell the difference between a behaviour that’s happened once and one that’s been rehearsed 47 times this week. 😂

We’re on the same team here. Honesty gives us the tools to help your dog succeed. 🐾

Sniffing isn’t “doing nothing” to dogs… it’s how they explore the world.

When dogs sniff, they’re processing information, engaging their brains, building confidence and mentally tiring themselves out in a healthy way. That’s why 15 minutes of proper sniffing and enrichment can leave a dog more fulfilled than a long walk where they’re just marching from point A to point B.

Our enrichment walks are designed to slow things down and let dogs actually be dogs.
Sniffing the trees. Exploring new environments. Using their brains. Building confidence. Taking in the world around them instead of being rushed past it.

Enrichment isn’t just about tiring dogs out. It’s about fulfilling them. ❤️
