Our wonderful demo team Maree and Spook, Jo and Joy, Karen with Sky and Chilli, Charm and Maxiumus, Mia and Brontë and Sharon with Gift and Banjo along with DWDCQ President and Master of Ceremonies Maree Field with Halo wowed the crowds at the first day of the Dog Lovers Festival.
Their performances certainly had the crowds clapping their hands and cheering to their dogs amazing skills on the dance floor.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at the RNA Showgrounds again tomorrow for another wonderful day of Dances With Dogs.

Qld's first DWD Freestyle Grand Champion (Dogs Qld depending) was achieved last night with Jo Gooding and her amazing Border Collie Joy with two brilliant routines scoring 177.5 and 175.5.
This team has worked hard and creatively to produce the routines required to achieve this award.
Congratulations Jo and Joy from everyone at the DWDCQ

What an amazing 3 days at Crufts for DWD or Heelwork to Music as it is called in the UK.
Huge congratulations to our friend Anastasiia Beaument and her lovely dog Salsa for their wonderful lyrical routine which won the Freestyle International competition.

Tonight we get to watch the International Freestyle competition.
Good luck to everyone but especially to our friend Anastasia Beaument who came out to Australia last year to share her knowledge with us. The DWDCQ will be cheering for you.

Huge Congratulations to Lucy Heath for winning the Freestyle section at Crufts this years with her little dog Trip Hazard and also placing 3rd with her other dog Strike.
Lucy competed this year with 3 dogs Trip Hazard, Strike and Tempo.
Imagine trying to remember 3 routines and competing at such a high level. Our hat goes off to you Lucy... Well done.

The Ekka (Brisbane Royal) is the best place to compete as our audiences are often large and they love watching our wonderful dogs performing their routines.
Competition starts approx 12:00pm in the dog pavillion.

Our July DWD competition was held at Jimboomba Dog Training Club with lots of fabulous routines being performed.
Congratulations to those that received quallies and titles and well done for everyone who competed. It was a lovely (but a bit chilly) competition.
