I work a lot to pay for the things I like to do with my own dog. So I didn't work on sunday, went to a venue in the swan valley to do a "Hoopers" trial with Drift.

This particular video is of the class called Go the Distance. There is a section that the dog has to move away and do the hoops/tunnel and the handler is not allowed over the in this clip the pink markers on the ground.

As you will see this is our bloopers round!!. Drift thought it much more fun to go and have a bit of a run and zoomies. It was a hot day so i have no doubt he was eventually going to settle in the shade :-)

I share this as you can see (if you don't train your dog it can go wrong) however, it is really all about having FUN!!. Lots of dogs actually do this as they enjoy the run around at times.

I do in fact train most of it 😀...more the beginners level, and I even do this just at home.

Drift in fact gained his 4th pass yesterday and now has a Hoopers beginner title.

There are some wonderful people that offer courses to do this as well with the equipment or I can show you how i started out as well so you can enjoy fun times with your dog.

I had the pleasure to do a lunchtime pop in visit with this little cutie today. Nice to see he cuddled up on his couch to sleep the afternoon away when i left. 🐾🐾❤
His mum will be so pleased and proud of how he is progressing.

I had the pleasure to catch up today with the very handsome "Chip". 🐾🐾
Chip attended my pre-school classes from a young puppy and has been in touch all through his growing up. He hit adolescence late last year and things changed a bit with him as it can for teenagers.

So to prepare for his sterilsation procedure in December his wonderful owner - Rebecca got me out for a session to work on his Muzzle training for safety purposes (well as i like to call it - face jewelry). Then instead of him needing the dreaded cone as he would not be able to get in his crate with that on. We went over using the pool noodle method that i really like.
The photos of Chip wearing his noodle collar is when he came home from the vet on the day of surgery. So worked well and he did not need to be worried about the cone or about him getting to his stitches.

I caught up with them again today and we just did a refresher on Chip wearing his muzzle at various times during my visit (as he has not had to do that in my presence before) and for a lovely boy who really likes me it was a challenge for him, but necessary to be able to learn this context.

It is just so rewarding for me as a dog behaviour consultant to be called upon to help and keep coaching my clients throughout their journey with their dogs. This then identifies any areas that need tweaking or new things and new context for things the dogs know to prepare them for daily life.

Love this reminder. When I used to take "Spirit" with me to client appointments as a helper!! We got to stop off and check out water for the first time on the way home. 🥰 He did end up really enjoying being able to investigate the mew funny feeling and smelling environment. ❤🐾❤🐾

Found this photo today of my gorgeous St Bernard "Casper".

He came into my life at 8 weeks of age and he left when he was 9 years old. Such a wonderful boy but he had some behavioural issues, which back then I knew nothing about his particular problems. Knowing so much and learning so much more now, i could have really helped him a lot more.
Casper did have an awesome life though and brought me lots of joy and heartache as all our furry family members seem to do. 🐾🐾🥰

I am really way behind with doing this little brag and photo.
Earlier this year I set myself a little goal to teach Drift some tricks.

I don't have the time or energy to compete in the ANKC tricks as I had hoped to now. This has been just as much fun to do though.

Drift has gained his 3 titles. We did this back in July. This was all taught and done pretty much at home. It was submitted online to The Animal Talent Academy of Australia for their assessment to be able get the passes.

The titles Drift gained are for Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced.
So much fun thinking about how and what we both needed to learn to do the tricks. Then get him to do them whilst I video them..which we all know is not my best talent 😂😂

If any of my clients or anyone is interested in knowing more or wanting to do this then don't hesitate to get in touch and I can help you teach what you would need.

There are still a few other Titles that I am considering doing with Drift through the ATA too as well as him still competing in his Scent Work and his Hoopers as we are having so much fun doing all these things that build our relationship and team work. 🐾🐾🥰
