Had the absolute pleasure of catching up with this handsome boy recently. I initially met him as a puppy he is now a very cute "teenager".
We went over some things he needed a refresher on and needing tweaking now he is a bit older and understanding how that teenage brain can be difficult for owners to always understand.
Needless to say, he was certainly tired by the end of the session, but I managed to get a photo and head tilt before he lied down to snooze and rest from his training and learning.
His owners are doing a fabulous job with him.🐾🐾πŸ₯°

I am so very privileged and lucky to have many wonderful dog/puppy owners who started their journey with me originally as clients (with previous dog members who have now passed) and have gone on to become very good friends to me.

Here is my stunning young visitor I had yesterday. This gorgeous, stunning little Rottie along with his human dad are going to continue on their learning and training with me. He was listening and watching intently whilst a put a coffee down for his dad before our play and engagement was happening and then when he got home needed to have a big sleep with his new toy.
The toy he is enjoying his sleep with was received from Drift's best friend and his most favourite person that is Drift's toy giver.. but he does like to share this person with others when he can. πŸΎπŸΎπŸ˜‚

He will get to see some wonderful Shelties soon too who along with their lovely owner who started as a client many years ago and has become a friend also and continue their journey of learning, and having fun and always knowing I am there to support and help them with any issues they have at anytime. πŸ₯°

Feeling very lucky to have these opportunities and being a part of the dogs and the humans lives too. ❀

For my clients that follow and listen to my journey with Drift in his scent trials. We had one this week. Some lovely photos taken by the professional photographer that was there hidden behind the scenes :-) Jodie Grieve Photography. she has captured Drift & I having a happy dance/celebration with some good progress with Drift finding 2 out the 3 hidden odors in the containers.
We did not pass this time...but the enjoyment we had together really is all I could want and ask for. That is what it is all about in the end. Having a great day out with my own dog.
Just love this boy to bits. 🐾🐾πŸ₯°β€

Today was home visit session with the gorgeous "Kaiser".
He has certainly hit the teenage phase now :-)

Kaiser will be one year old in June...and has come along with such a dedicated owner since i first met him.

Our first sessions involved getting him comfortable with car travel, (which now he is loving his car rides), and when on walks the scary traffic. That too has improved so much that it is not as scary for him and his owners when out on a walk.

Tegan and her family put in everything I have showed and discussed with them and they are now starting to reap the rewards. Still as a 1 Year old boy there will be challenges, but I am always just a call away to help them and they consistently do one on one sessions so that we cover the areas that are needing to be addressed,.

This photo is after our session today and he was so tired he just wanted to rest the weary head and digest it all until next time.

Thank you again Tegan for continuing on the great training you are doing with Kaiser and for doing sessions with myself. 🐾🐾πŸ₯°

I have the BEST clients ever!!. This handsome young man is Bison. He came to a lovely couple at the age of around 14months. It was from memory his 3rd or 4th but certainly his FINAL home now.
Sophie has been an awesome owner and client who has been dedicated to doing the best she can for this stunner.

Some pictures today of him having a head scratch& cuddles before we started training, to then falling asleep at the end of training while we humans chatted!!
The beach photos are of him last week enjoying his wonderful life and even doing training when he is at the beach too.

Seeing this and having such dedicated owners of the breed I love, makes my job so satisfying.

Again Sophie, thank you so much for coming along to training and putting into practice everything we cover, learn and teach Bison.

I always look forward to our sessions. 🐾🐾❀

Drift has to have some medication to take daily and with food. So instead of trying to hide it in food, as dogs are very smart and can still either spit it out or leave it and eat the food around it. This is how I get him to take them.

The photo is of the two tablets he needs. The food i give him as the process is part of his daily food. Today it is some prime dog roll and some fresh beef mince (yes human mince). So for those that have said they can't use raw food you can. I roll into various sizes at times.
First video is a practice run as I am the worst person to take video's.
Drift is just catching whatever piece of food I toss him to catch.

Then second video is a couple of pieces of practice food then the large tablet and immediately some food catching once swallowed so he does not get the chance to spit it out. Then same process for the small one.
Sometimes my food throws are not great and food will hit his teeth or mouth and land on the floor. I let him get it and he resets himself for the next round.

I have only asked him to do a sit in this video for ease to show you.

Normally when I do it, I am walking around and he follows and we just stand and do same process. He does also do this for Kibble as the food he is catching.

If you need help with your dogs to learn to take medication in this way. Reach out and we can book in a training session. It really is a fun thing for the dogs to learn and do.

It is a tough life according to Drift.πŸ˜‚ Must do lots of resting and sleeping on mum's bed after a Vet visit.

Huge shout out and thank you to Dr Ambre & the lovely Vet Student (Lucy) and all the staff Kudah Vet clinic. πŸ₯°We popped down today to check out some lameness Drift is having.

Drift surprises me all the time when he does have to go to the Vets. That is why I truly value the relationship i have with not only the Vet (Dr Ambre) but all the staff at the clinic too. Today before I even got a chance to ask him to do if. He dragged me inside, no loose lead happening to get in there I can tell you πŸ˜‚πŸΎπŸΎand promptly plopped himself onto the scales...I guess the value of rewarding him I have done previously and the context really has paid off.

No photos or video of him in the actual consult today...but he did show off all the relevant exercises he has been learning for these visits. Some of them were, nose touch, settle, lie on side, chin, get into left or right position next to me just to name a few and he could do them with Ambre & Lucy as well as me, which helps too when needed. Relationship building with your Vet/Clinic Staff is just so helpful and important.

I really can't say it enough that it is so important to do "happy Vet visits", go in and just weigh your dog/puppy, teach simple relevant skills so it is pleasant for not only you & your dog but the Vet & relevant staff too. Not just when you need to go.
