Throwback to our young colt’s very first outing!

It was his first time experiencing a new environment, and he behaved so well and took everything in his stride.

So often, people are quick to say, “My horse was naughty.” But did we actually set them up to succeed, or did we just throw them to the wolves and expect them to know what to do?

We believe good behaviour starts with good preparation. Build the foundations, teach your horse how to handle pressure, give your horse the tools to cope, and set them up to succeed.

This old video is a great reminder that preparation makes all the difference.

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗦𝗔 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦 𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗢, 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗬 𝗔𝗞𝗨𝗕𝗥𝗔

Georgie Kapeller (Header) and Tom Willoughby (Heeler) have claimed the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo Open Team Roping title, sponsored by Akubra Hats combining for a winning aggregate time of 19.2 seconds across the weekend.

Kapeller and Willoughby delivered when it counted in the famous Kalkadoon Arena, finishing 4.5 seconds clear of their nearest rivals to secure the coveted Mount Isa Mines Rodeo buckles.

Jayden Kenny and Shane Kenny finished second with an aggregate time of 23.7 seconds, while Lochlan Flanagan and Dallas Flanagan rounded out the podium in third on 30.8.

Tom might not have finished off the steer wrestling as he would have liked but it’s pretty special to walk away with a buckle in the team roping riding his best mate Super and alongside the talented Georgie Kapeller who rode Apples who was also started by Tom.

It’s short go Sunday in the Isa. Lottie made it back in the top 14 for the Jnr barrel race and Tom made it back in 5th spot for the steer wrestling and 2nd for the team roping. Good luck to everyone today 🏆
