Meet our new noisy little friends. Patman and Molly are rainbow lorikeets that were found alone on the ground. These two are too young to be out of a nest, so have come here for babysitting until they are big kids 🥰🌿

A huge thanks and thumbs up to Shoreline garden products in Grantville for donating and even delivering the soil for our newest wombat pens/ aviaries. It was a pleasure to meet you Kim and your generosity is very much appreciated. Also thanks to Les, Matt, and Dolly the wombat is showing us how it's done 😂🥰

Meet Lisa!!! She was found roadside in her deceased mummas pouch. Weighing in at a reasonable size of 1.5kg, once she settles in she should do well. Fingers crossed for her 🥰❤️

Our surprise early morning visitor. We have not released any local wombats, and ours are all accounted for.... But he/she didn't seemed too stressed, or nearly as excited as we were. This is the first wild wombat we have seen on this property in over 12 years, what an absolute honour 🥰❤️

So this was a bit of unnecessary excitement yesterday! Thank you so much to Loch CFA for attending a neighbouring properties out of control burn off which was extremely close to our animal enclosures, endangering their lives and our shelter. I'm well aware that winds are unpredictable, but a bit of common sense and communication when igniting and choosing the placement of burn piles should be carefully considered. Thankfully all our wombats and animals in care are okay, just a bit hot and smokey, and all our enclosures are undamaged.
Always a big thank you to all the firies that volunteer and keep us all safer. Just because you can burn, it doesn't mean it is the correct conditions...
