Meet Lisa!!! She was found roadside in her deceased mummas pouch. Weighing in at a reasonable size of 1.5kg, once she settles in she should do well. Fingers crossed for her 🥰❤️

Our surprise early morning visitor. We have not released any local wombats, and ours are all accounted for.... But he/she didn't seemed too stressed, or nearly as excited as we were. This is the first wild wombat we have seen on this property in over 12 years, what an absolute honour 🥰❤️

So this was a bit of unnecessary excitement yesterday! Thank you so much to Loch CFA for attending a neighbouring properties out of control burn off which was extremely close to our animal enclosures, endangering their lives and our shelter. I'm well aware that winds are unpredictable, but a bit of common sense and communication when igniting and choosing the placement of burn piles should be carefully considered. Thankfully all our wombats and animals in care are okay, just a bit hot and smokey, and all our enclosures are undamaged.
Always a big thank you to all the firies that volunteer and keep us all safer. Just because you can burn, it doesn't mean it is the correct conditions...

Last week we did a double glider, and double ringtail possum release. Once again a magnificent property with trees and understory that have all been hand planted over many many years. This is a long term commitment and amazing dedication to helping preserve our wonderful habitat and wildlife. Well done 🙂❤️
