Jack and I headed out to our local (amazing) HRCAV club’s annual 3-phase equitation comp yesterday. The weather was super wintry but the rain held off all day, luckily!

For our first competition of any kind in about three years, it was perfect. It’s so hard to ride consistently through winter with a full time job, so our fitness was pretty ordinary. But we scored a respectable 60% in our dressage test and scored a super 82% in our style round. A fast speed round saw us take out the win! There were only two of us in the Level 1 class but Kay Harding is tough to beat so I’m pretty proud of ourselves.

Thanks to the incredible Yackandandah Riding Club committee for such a well-organised and friendly event. Thanks also to the generous sponsors YCDCo., Corowa Chaff Mill and Everything Equitation .I’m so chuffed with my very own garroche ring to practice on!

I’ll try to find some photos of us in action. The wonderful Rae Kwong was taking some shots in lieu of the official photographer who was ill and couldn’t come.

Check out this gorgeous boy! I’m SO pleased for Teek Dolan on the arrival of this perfect little guy by Captain Thunderbolt out of her lovely TB mare. Teek has called him Captain Starlight and he’s a ripper! Congratulations Teek!
