Hi All
This is an interesting story / tale of no help protecting wildlife in the owners property after a storm system massively hit Dunkeld
Although the well built well protect cats and dogs area unaffected - the rest of the 50 acre property was not
23 hours of no electricity through direct lightning strikes - fixed superbly by essential energy on Sunday 12/1

4 huge trees down in the river / creek on the property.
So who to help us?
We have Platypus and Rikali in the Evans Plains creek

Contacted SES - attended on site “sorry you’ll need to contact the council
Contacted Bathurst Council - absolutely no help “sorry it’s private property and we’re not concerned with any wildlife involved”
Contacted NRMA - as insurance claim “sorry no claim can be submitted as no property damaged caused “” update on this later after we made a complaint

Contacted Paul Toole - member for Bathurst “no response” my words
Contacted Premier of NSW “no response except an automated email saying we’ve received your communication “
Contact Prime Minister of Australia - waste of time - no response.
Contacted NSW DPI in Orange - 2 departments- “sorry we can’t help we have no funding”
Contacted LLS (Local Land Services) - the lady tried desperately but got a respond “no we can’t help as it’s private property”

Don’t you love Australian Politics and Government

Not interested

Guess I’m going down the creek with Cy our terrific handyman to try and do what we can with massive tree trunks that will cause flooding and damage and wipe out the local environment that supports Platypus and Rikali

Sorry had to get on and articulate a weird society that doesn’t care about its wildlife

Christmas 2025
Please note:
Due to overwhelming demand we are only taking bookings for Christmas 2025 and the adjacent New Year period from regular customers
This is to safeguard and facilitate regular customers as the priority.
Regular customers are those defined as having other booking(s) through the year.
Any questions just ask me

Even for regular customers - the above process does not in itself guarantee a spot is available after we fill the facility.
As per normal practice - the non refundable deposit guarantees the dates you request.

Regards
Brendan

“Brooks” is a Beagle x - looking for a new home - completely free of charge

He needs rehoming because the owner (one of our customers) has to move to a new location and it won’t take Brooks

Nice nature, gets on with many other dogs and people. Medium size only - not a big dog
Desexed and upto date with C5 (Dec 2024) vaccinations. Approx just under 8yrs old, so many years ahead of him

Contact us on 0434 339 329 and we can give the owner your details to make contact.

A sad day indeed
We lost Lexy - she died peacefully at home.
She was the most beautiful gorgeous easy-going doggie - always talking and loved all other dogs.
The whole team at Dunkeld Park Pet Hotel are in mourning
She came to our facility soon after we opened our doors exectoy 8 years ago after beating Bathurst council in court
Our lovely neighbours Ian and Sue entrusted us with her welfare whilst they took holidays
We send commiserations to both but remind them what a fantastic and long life Lexy had in their wonderful household
Bye Lexy we will remember you forever.

Dunkeld Park Pet Hotel sponsored this event along with other sponsors.

A great annual event, with a great bunch of people!!

$35,000 RAISED ON OUR 35TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!

We are extremely proud to announce that all accounts have been finalised and a grand total of $35,000 has been raised from our annual Good Friday Police & Community Charity Golf Day.

Through the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, players and supporters every cent of the $35,000 raised will be disbursed throughout our local community.

We are currently in discussions with a list of beneficiaries to determine the various allocations and project costings.

We will have all the details finalised within the next week and look forward to some exciting announcements.

Thank you to our generous sponsors – in particular the Burton Automotive Groupfor taking our event to a new level with the Hole in One chance to win a car.

We appreciate all the support this important community day receives and look forward to a Great Good Friday once again in 2025.
