Smoking Zak
Between 15.3-16hh, rising 12yr old Standardbred gelding last raced May 2024. Up to date with teeth, feet, worming and chiro.
Zak is a sensitive guy needing someone with the time to spend with him one on one, which we sadly don’t have anymore. He is very sweet, always easy to catch, trim, float, wash etc.
He has your typical quirky Standy personality. He is working on his canter on the ground but not quite there under saddle and can still pace when unsure. Not the type you can ignore in the paddock for weeks then pull out for a ride, does need 5-10 minutes of groundwork first-has had a little hump when fresh.
He will benefit from a home willing to put the time into working with him from the ground up and building a solid partnership. He is very handsome, has absolutely no nastiness in him and will stand with you all day for some love. He is sound with great bare feet and no itch. Point him at any obstacle in long reins or under saddle and he will cross it without fuss.
95% of the time is great around his head and ears but on the very rare occasion will lift his head and get a bit anxious about being touched around the ears or mouth. Suit trail riding, therapy, obstacles, low level showing etc. Looking for a loving forever home to begin his new chapter.
