Helen’s Dream 🐎 (rehomed)
Lovely flashy type with loads of potential.
It’s time for us to accept that full time work and trying to keep so many horses in work just isn’t possible. We are needing to find a very competent home to continue on with Helen’s Dream so we can focus on the Standies and she can get the consistency she needs and deserves ❤️
Please read full add thoroughly.
Helen is a 5yr old, just on 16hh OTT Thoroughbred mare. Last raced 19/08/24, retired sound with no injuries.
Since arriving she has had an 8 week spell to let down, precautionary treatment for ulcers, dental, 2in 1 and regular worming, currently in front shoes only.
Helen is a VERY sweet mare to deal with and loves a good pat, groom and cuddle. Absolutely NO nasties, “mare ears” etc. She is a bit bleached but is usually just about black.
Helen has had a couple of small spooks and shies in her time here but recovers well and doesn’t heat up afterwards.
Easy to catch, shoe, float, worm, wash etc.
Helen has been trail ridden, done flatwork in the arena and popped over some poles while with us, she is quite a petite framed girl and I believe she would excel at dressage or showing/hacking with further education and time to develop strength and topline in her back.
Helen is still adjusting to being tied up (is used to cross ties) and has leaned back on her lead a couple of times-hasn’t broken any equipment but something to note if not using cross ties.
Helen is very trainable, she is working into the bridle in walk and trot but her canter needs work and is quite down hill and uncomfortable at the moment lacking strength. Helen needs a patient, experienced owner willing to continue slowly building her up and strengthening her back. She has had spinal X-rays to rule out any physical limitations and is totally free of any kissing spinous processes, but will benefit from regular body work as she continues to develop. Unfortunately I’m just too big a rider at this stage in her career to continue her retraining.
NB: This is an OTT Thoroughbred requiring twice daily feeding and regular work while she continues to gain weight and topline, therefore knowledgeable/experienced/confident homes need only apply for her. Absolutely NO beginners or nervous riders. Helen is a part of the QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer program and comes with 10 subsidised lessons and a New OTT Owner Welcome Pack! Reference check will be required.
