A bit of a disappointing post today, as we got to the club grounds to find the grass all churned up.
I’m not sure if the community is aware so I’ll make a few points. Firstly, we are 100% volunteer run, and we’re also struggling with the workload on our current volunteers and stuff like this just creates unnecessary extra work. Secondly, we run four competitions a year which bring people to the tablelands from all over Australia (we’ve had people from as far as Tasmania). To run our competitions we need the ground to be safe and flat with no divots in the ground, otherwise we risk injury to both dogs and handlers.
We are aware the community centre is open to the public, however things like this are incredibly disappointing for our little club.
If you are in Atherton and in or around the community centre, please help us keep an eye out, and if you see anything that doesn’t look normal feel free to message us and let us know.
We love helping our community with their dogs, but now we’re asking for some help too.
