On Saturday night the Altona Vet team had a night out at Moon Dog Wild West in Footscray to say goodbye to one of our longtime and very loved nurses Amanda.

The clinic will not be the same without Amanda, she has been an absolute pleasure to work with and will be very missed by ourselves and our clients.

We wish her all the best with her future, whatever it may bring.

Did you know that regular grooming of long-haired cats helps to reduce their hairballs? Cats naturally swallow hair when grooming themselves but, in long-haired felines, hair is more likely to tangle and form clumps in the stomach. This can cause gut irritation and vomiting. Grooming your long-haired cat every two-to-three days with a slicker brush or deshedding tool will remove loose hairs from their coat, reducing the amount they swallow during grooming. Bonus: They’ll also look even more gorgeous!
