Happy 15th Birthday to my beautiful Border Collie, Aust Ch Perrioak Dreams Do Come True — our Danny, or as we call him, Dan Dan. ❤️

This old boy has been through more in the last 12 months than most dogs face in a lifetime.

He lost his best mate Olivia, then just 6 weeks later lost Flick too. He definitely wasn’t impressed about becoming an only dog. Then came emergency surgery, followed by me disappearing for 4 months, and when I finally came home, there was a tiny two-legged baby waiting to join the family! 😂👶

Through every change, every challenge, and every surprise, Danny has remained the loyal, loving soul he’s always been.

Fifteen years of friendship, unconditional love, adventures, and memories. We love you more than you’ll ever know, buddy.

Happy Birthday, Dan Dan. 🥳🎂❤️

One thing I’ve learned caring for a 15-year-old Border Collie is that joint health deserves extra attention. 🐾

Danny has glucosamine as part of his daily routine to help support healthy joints and mobility as he ages. One little tip that works well for us is mixing powdered supplements into a small amount of liquid before adding them to his food. It helps ensure everything is evenly distributed and can make it easier for some dogs to consume.

At 15 years old, every comfortable walk, gentle stretch, and happy tail wag feels like a gift. ❤️

They may share the same beautiful tri-colour markings, but Zoe the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel comes in a much smaller package. ❤️

Cavaliers are known for their affectionate nature, gentle temperament, and love of being close to their humans. Whether it’s a walk, a cuddle on the couch, or following you from room to room, they’re happiest when they’re with their family.

There is a lot of recent talk about Titre testing!

It is something I’ve personally used with my Border Collies for more than 20 years, so it’s certainly not a new concept. However, I’m pleased to see more dog owners becoming aware of it and discussing it with their veterinarians.

A titre test is a simple blood test that measures your dog’s antibody levels against core canine diseases. It can help determine whether your dog already has protective immunity and provide additional information when making vaccination decisions.

As responsible pet owners, having access to information and understanding the options available allows us to make informed choices for our dogs’ health and wellbeing.
