WE’RE DEVASTATED 💔
A few days ago, we begged for help. We pleaded with our community to support us & the animals in need in the middle of a crisis which sees us without homes or food & with vet bills so high, we can’t see a way out.
Almost 80,000 people saw our post.
Yet less than 0.25% acted.
Let that sink in.
Together, we secured less than 2 weeks of food & covered less than 5% of our vet bill.
And we’re struggling to process that.
Of course we are so grateful to the few that came forward. Often the same people that can’t look away, that never think it’s someone else’s problem ❤️🩹
But too many ignored & kept scrolling.
And now, we don’t know what to do or where to turn.
What makes things worse is that the day before our plea, we took in more than 10 dogs from a life-threatening hoarding & breeding situation.
We didn’t have space.
We didn’t have funding.
We didn’t have fosters.
But we said yes. Because we had hope.
Because if we hadn’t… they would not be alive today.
You can swipe through & meet them. Amongst them:
💔 A 10-year-old blind Malinois
💔 Black labrador retrievers bred beyond belief
💔 A broken & terrified Saluki mix
💔 A giant Shepherd / Pyrenees girl covered in sores
💔 Five tiny, confused puppies
Then ask yourself…
What would you have done?
Turned a blind eye?
Left them there?
Taken only the easy cases? The small breeds? The dogs you know people rush to adopt, like we hear another rescuer did?
Because those weren’t choices we could live with.
So now what?
They’re sitting in vet cages waiting for treatment we cannot afford.
At the same time, 15 dogs already in our care are becoming homeless before the end of this month & we have almost no foster offers.
This is the part nobody sees.
Rescues don’t close because people are cruel or they don’t feel bad. If we could fund rescue on broken hearts, we’d never have to worry..
But they close because people assume somebody else will step in.
How do we keep protecting hundreds of animals when the community doesn’t show up?
If you’re reading this, please don’t scroll past.
Foster.
Adopt.
Sponsor treatment.
Share.
They only have us. What happens if we’re no longer there?
