🏷️ **What Exactly Is the Dubai Municipality Pet Tag?**

🎥 Listen to Dr. Athina explain how the Dubai Municipality registration system works and why it matters.

Every registered pet in Dubai should have:

✔️ A microchip implanted under the skin
✔️ An annual rabies vaccination (required by UAE law)
✔️ A Dubai Municipality registration linked to that microchip

The Municipality tag is linked to your pet's microchip and digital record, helping veterinary clinics, shelters, and authorities identify your pet and reunite them with you should they ever become lost.

Keeping your pet's registration current is not only a legal requirement but also one of the simplest ways to protect them.

🐾 A small tag. A big safety net.

👑 **Amira, the Princess**

In Arabic, *Amira* means *Princess* — and anyone who has met this beautiful Saluki would agree that she wears her name well.

Like many dogs living in our part of the world, Amira has sensitive skin. The heat, the dust, the grasses, the invisible particles carried by the wind... our climate can be challenging for pets prone to allergies.

Skin allergies are among the most common conditions we see in dogs, and they can be frustrating. Not because they cannot be helped, but because they are rarely something that simply disappears. Allergies are not usually cured — they are managed, understood, and kept under control.

The journey is often one of patience and partnership. A little adjustment here, a different medication there, support for the skin barrier, careful attention to the ears, nutrition, and comfort. Over time, the itching quiets, the skin heals, the coat regains its shine, and the dog returns to what matters most: enjoying life.

Amira is doing beautifully. Her skin is calmer, her coat healthier, and she is feeling much more comfortable in her own skin.

She is a gentle reminder that sometimes medicine is not about making a disease disappear. Sometimes it is about giving our patients the comfort, confidence, and quality of life they deserve.

And every princess deserves that. ✨

Tricolour cats (calicos or tortoiseshells) are almost always female.

For some occasional “useless” info among all the very useful ones…

Tricolor cats (calicos or tortoiseshells) are almost always female.

Why? Because the colors orange and black are linked to the X chromosome. Females have two (XX), so they can carry both colors. Males (XY) usually only have one — so just one color shows.

The rare tricolor male? A genetic exception (XXY)… and often not so simple health-wise.

Not so useless after all, right? 😏🐱

Meet Shanelle! Our new customer service representative!

She began her journey as a veterinary receptionist in 2022 and has since been helping pet parents feel at ease and making every visit smoother for both humans and their furry companions.

Originally from Iloilo City, Philippines, Shanelle brings warmth, calm energy, and a big smile to our front desk every day. With a background in hospitality and years as a Lounge Supervisor, she knows exactly how to make people feel welcome and cared for.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her with a good book or staying fit at the gym 💪📚

Friendly, patient, and always ready to help — Shanelle is one of the reasons our reception feels like home ✨

Sometimes, the best medicine isn’t in a syringe…

It’s sitting quietly by their side, stepping into their space, and hand-feeding them with patience and care 🤍

Trust is built in these small moments — and sometimes, that’s what healing truly begins with. 🐾

Do we become allergic to something the very first time we touch or eat it? Usually no. That is a common myth.

Allergies often develop after repeated exposure — to the things we meet again and again. The immune system learns, then overreacts.

The same can happen in pets. That is why some of the most common food allergies are linked to chicken and beef, simply because these proteins are present in so many pet foods.

But food is only one chapter of the story. Pets can also become allergic to their environment and itch endlessly because of it. This is known as atopic dermatitis.

Common triggers may include:
• Dust mites
• Pollen
• Fungi / molds
• Even organisms that normally live on their own skin

Sometimes the itch is not from something new — but from something familiar.

Sorry, not sorry — we have the prettiest and smartest reception team, don’t we? 🤍

From Sally (and her ongoing mission to secretly feed our very overweight clinic Louie 😅) to the ever-lovely Shanelle — our front desk is where warmth meets efficiency.

They are the first smile you see, the calm voice when things feel stressful, and the quiet force keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

To our incredible reception team — you are truly the heart of Panacea Vets 🐾

How often should I treat my cat for intestinal parasites? 🐱

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on your cat’s lifestyle, age, and level of exposure.

✨ **Indoor-only adult cats:** often every **6-12 months**, depending on risk.
✨ **Outdoor cats / hunters / multi-pet households:** usually every **3 months** is recommended.
✨ **Kittens:** need monthly treatments until they reach 6 months.
✨ **Cats with higher exposure risks:** may need a stricter schedule.

The best parasite plan is a personalised one — ask us what suits your cat best.
