As you can see things look a little different outside the practice this morning! We are open and operating as usual but roadworks will be continuing for at least 1 week so there is no parking available in the carport. Please park in the designated parking spaces on the slip road in front of the practice (please pay online) or in Sanbrook street (free). Please call or message reception if you need help to transport a patient from the car. Parking on the pavement in front of the practice may result in a fine from the RTA. Thank you!

Feline Leukaemia (FeLV) is a nasty disease that cats get from direct contact with other cats. There is currently no effective treatment available, so it must be prevented by vaccination.

Cats that go outside and could mix with infected cats should be vaccinated. But indoor cats that never go outside and mix with other cats are not at risk.

Cats who may already have caught this virus should be tested before beginning the vaccinations. We are also offering a special price on our in-house PCR testing.

FeLV starter course of 2 vaccines given 3-4 weeks apart @ 225AED

PCR test for FeLV @ 200AED

(offer valid until 31st May 2025)

Depending on the cause, blindness in your pet can develop very suddenly or gradually.
Most animals are very good at adapting to gradual blindness, which can be surprisingly difficult to notice. Sudden blindness is much more obvious, and many pets find it difficult to adapt.
There are many causes of blindness — some are treatable, and some are not. In this video, Dr Sarah talks about some of the causes of blindness in pets and how these patients adapt.
Contact your vet for advice if you suspect your pet is losing their sight.

Respiratory infections are common in cats, especially in high-density populations such as shelters, breeding catteries, and feral cat colonies. A variety of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa cause these infections, which negatively impact feline health. While vaccines have greatly reduced the incidence of serious respiratory disease in cats, they have not eliminated the highly contagious pathogens that cause them.
