*"We went to An Eye for the Wild and what an experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. We borrowed a Bucky, laughed, learned, and worked alongside the amazing team β€” it was hands-on, messy, fun, and unforgettable.

The dedication, love, and care poured into every animal is just incredible. An Eye for the Wild is not just a sanctuary β€” it’s a place where hearts are full, lessons are learned, and memories are made.

To anyone thinking of visiting: pack your sense of humor, your curiosity, and maybe a little stamina β€” because you’ll leave inspired, amazed, and probably wanting to stay forever!"*

πŸ’š Thank you to everyone who supports An Eye for the Wild β€” you make all of this possible!

A Girl, a Pangolin, and a Promise to Protect

This photograph captures something very close to my heart β€” taken a couple of years ago of my daughter, Yardli, with Africa, a female pangolin I hand-raised after rescue.

Africa was not just an animal in our care; she became family. Gentle, shy, and deeply sensitive, she taught us patience, stillness, and respect. Pangolins do not demand attention β€” they invite it. To earn their trust is an honour, and to witness a child connect so naturally with such a fragile creature is a reminder of why we do what we do.

Moments like this are not staged. They are earned through quiet time, consistency, and love. This is how conservation truly begins β€” not with fear, but with connection.
This beautiful creature has since been introduced and released successfully back into the wild where she belongs

Riding home through green fields and wide blue skies. Your horse beneath you, eland ahead, wild hearts everywhere. Nature in her fullness β€” raw, calm, and a little cray-cray. This is home. πŸ’š

A trail camera captured a massive silverback tearing apart a campsite, but what he was looking for changed everything.

Footage showed the gorilla flipping boxes, ripping down the tent, and searching every corner with a kind of desperate focus no one could explain. At first, people thought it was just wild aggression.

Then authorities reviewed earlier footage, and the truth hit hard.

Just hours before the rampage, poachers had been seen trapping two baby gorillas in a cage. Investigators later discovered the silverback had followed their footprints and tire marks straight to the campsite, hoping to find his stolen young.

The video went viral, uniting wildlife groups and sparking a massive search. Days later, the poachers were caught, and the babies were found alive. They were finally reunited with their father, proving that even in the wild, nothing is stronger than a parent’s instinct to protect their child.
